Blood analyzer, blood analysis method and hemolytic agent
This blood analyzer includes a sample preparation portion preparing a measurement sample free from a labeling substance from a blood sample and a hemolytic agent free from a labeling substance, a light information generation portion generating fluorescent information and at least two types of scattered light information from the measurement sample and a control portion performing a first classification of white blood cells in the measurement sample into at least four groups of monocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils and others on the basis of the fluorescent information and the two types of scattered light information.
Systems and methods for particle focusing in microchannels
Various systems, methods, and devices are provided for focusing particles suspended within a moving fluid into one or more localized stream lines. The system can include a substrate and at least one channel provided on the substrate having an inlet and an outlet. The system can further include a fluid moving along the channel in a laminar flow having suspended particles and a pumping element driving the laminar flow of the fluid. The fluid, the channel, and the pumping element can be configured to cause inertial forces to act on the particles and to focus the particles into one or more stream lines.
REAL-TIME PCR IN MICRO-CHANNELS
The present invention relates to methods for amplifying nucleic acids in micro-channels. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods for performing a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in a continuous-flow microfluidic system and to methods for monitoring real-time PCR in such systems.
Flow cytometry for high throughput screening
The present invention, provides a flow cytometry apparatus for the detection of particles from a plurality of samples comprising: means for moving a plurality of samples comprising particles from a plurality of respective source wells into a fluid flow stream; means for introducing a separation gas between each of the plurality of samples in the fluid flow stream; and means for selectively analyzing each of the plurality of samples for the particles. The present invention also provides a flow cytometry method employing such an apparatus.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING THE AMPLIFICATION AND DISSOCIATION BEHAVIOR OF DNA MOLECULES
The present invention relates to systems and methods for monitoring the amplification of DNA molecules and the dissociation behavior of the DNA molecules. A method according to one embodiment of the invention may include the steps of: forcing a sample of a solution containing real-time PCR reagents to move though a channel; and while the sample is moving through an analysis region of the channel, performing the steps of: (a) cycling the temperature of the sample until the occurrence of a predetermined event; (b) after performing step (a), causing the sample's temperature to gradually increase from a first temperature to a second temperature; and (c) while the step of gradually increasing the sample's temperature is performed, using an image sensor to monitor emissions from the sample.
SPECIMEN ANALYZER AND SPECIMEN ANALYZING METHOD
A sample analyzing method of a sample analyzer for measuring samples, using a reagent container which comprises a writable and readable storage medium, the sample analyzing method including: storing information regarding a remaining amount of a reagent in the reagent container to a memory of the analyzer read from the storage medium; updating the information in the memory in response to an aspiration of the reagent; and writing updated information in the memory to the storage medium when an aspiration of the reagent in a plurality of measurements is completed. The writing of the updated information is postponed until the aspiration of the reagent in the plurality of measurements is completed.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE PROCESSING AND/OR ANALYSIS AND/OR SELECTION OF PARTICLES, IN PARTICULAR BIOLOGICAL PARTICLES
Methods and apparatus are described for the processing particles in which the particles suspended in a first fluid are introduced under laminar flow conditions into at least one first microchamber or first region, in which a second fluid is introduced under laminar flow conditions into at least one second region or second microchamber, in such a way as not to mix with the first fluid, and in which at least one field of force acting on the particles is activated in the microchamber(s), to provoke a shift of the particles alone in a predetermined direction and to transfer the same in suspension into the second fluid.
Flow analyzer and flow analysis method
A flow analyzer includes a flow container, a fluid-introducing section that introduces an introduction target fluid into the flow container, a fluid control section that performs a control process that cyclically changes the flow rate or the fluid pressure of the introduction target fluid that is introduced into the flow container from the fluid-introducing section, a discharged fluid analysis section that performs a component analysis process on a discharged fluid that has been discharged from the flow container, and a frequency analysis section that performs a frequency analysis process on a discharge profile, the discharge profile being obtained from control information about the introduction target fluid and analysis results for the discharged fluid, and representing the relationship between the component ratio in the discharged fluid and time.
Specimen analyzer and specimen analyzing method
A specimen analyzer for continuously measuring a plurality of samples, using a reagent container which comprises a wirelessly writable and readable storage medium is disclosed. A specimen analyzing method is also disclosed. The analyzer comprises a reagent dispenser, a measurement unit, a memory which stores information regarding a remaining amount of the reagent in a reagent container, and a wireless communication unit. The analyzer causes the reagent dispenser to continuously carry out aspiration of the reagent from the reagent container, updates the information in the memory in response to an aspiration of the reagent by the reagent dispenser, and causes the wireless communication unit to write the information in the memory to the storage medium when the continuous aspiration is completed.
