POTABLE WATER PRODUCING DEVICE
A water treatment device comprising a clear container with lid surrounded by a solar reflector, and an insert in the form of a thin sheet or mesh permanently coated with titanium dioxide as a water sanitizing catalyst. The container is filled with non-potable water, covered with the lid, and placed in direct sunlight. Direct and reflected sunlight enters the water through the clear container and lid, where the sunlight's ultraviolet (UV) radiation and increased solar thermal heat disinfect the water. Further, the catalyst on the insert reacts with dissolved oxygen in the water to produce reactive oxygen species. These reactive species react with and decompose organic compounds in the water, and kill or inactivate pathogens. In addition, the reactive oxygen species further react with the water itself to produce additional free radical species, which also react with and decompose organic compounds and kill or inactivate pathogens.
SOLAR DESALINATOR
A solar desalinator that converts contaminated water to potable water includes a cylindrical solar collector, a trough-shaped parabolic mirror, and a condenser. The solar collector is positioned within the trough-shaped parabolic mirror, and the parabolic mirror focuses the Sun's rays onto the solar collector, heats the water, and converts the water to steam. The steam is fed to the condenser where the steam is condensed to recover potable water. The solar collector includes an inner conduit surrounded by an outer shell with a vacuum in the anger space between. Energy absorbing material in the form of dark metal is positioned in the inner conduit. A residue bulb is attached at the contaminated water inlet to collect residue left by the creation of the steam.
Water harvester and purification system and method of making and using same
A system for producing potable water, including a primary water harvester including a non-potable water source, gas heating chamber, wherein the gas heating chamber includes a gas directing tube having a gas located within the gas directing tube such that the gas heating chamber is used to heat the gas located within the gas directing tube, a gas mover operatively connected to the gas directing tube for moving the heated gas contained within the gas directing tube, an evaporator operatively connected at one end to the gas directing tube, wherein the heated gas located within the gas directing tube contacts non-potable from the non-potable water source such that a water vapor in the heated gas is increased, and a condenser operatively connected to the other end of the evaporator, wherein the condenser causes the water vapor to condense out of the heated gas to produce potable water. A secondary function of the system allows it to act as a concentrator for organic and inorganic components present in the non-potable water that can be considered additional resources to be recovered in addition to the potable water produced by the system.
Multifunction solar utility panels
A multi-function solar panel, the panel being of the tilted tray type which is divided into three chambers, one chamber being used for electricity generation, and cooling of the PV panel and partial preheating of the feed water to a still, one for processing the feed water to produce potable water and the other for water storage and other ancillary devices used in the production process and PAYG functionality of the multi-function solar panel.
On-demand system for drawing and purifying well water
This disclosure provides systems and methods for generating potable water from contaminated water sources, particularly well water. By eliminating the purified water holding tank, employing a combination of source tank with carbon and reverse osmosis filters in series, and using an actuated pump to supply impure water from the source, a simple on-demand system is provided that is especially adapted for use in remote locations. The system and method are particularly useful where only direct current power, such as from a solar photovoltaic panel power, is available.
DC-POWERED ELECTROCHEMICALLY REACTIVE MEMBRANE
An electrochemically reactive membrane filtration system that exhibits antifouling characteristics, high surface reactivity and removal of organic pollutants and microbes in water. Such electrochemically reactive membrane systems can be incorporated as a core part of point-of-use (POU) water treatment and disinfection devices that exhibit performance of water purification at the endpoint of drinking water supply (e.g., tap water or pure water machine) and warrant the drinking water quality.
Deep ocean desalination system and methods of using same to produce potable water
A deep ocean desalination system that uses hydrostatic pressure to reverse osmosis the seawater. The membrane structure is deployed to a predetermined ocean depth and includes a submersible pump system.
Ambient water condensing apparatus
An ambient water condensing apparatus that extracts water vapor from ambient air utilizing a thermoelectric device, a superhydrophobic and/or superhydrophilic radiating condensing surface and a heat sink for providing point of source irrigation or drinking water using conventional and/or sustainable energy supplies. The thermoelectric device is thermally coupled intermediate of the condensing surface and the heat sink, and in particular a cold side of the thermoelectric device is thermally connected to the condensing surface and a hot side of the thermoelectric device is thermally connected to the heat sink. The water condensing apparatus may also include at least one fan element that cools the heat sink and introduces additional air to the condensing surface. The thermoelectric device and the fan element may be powered by any suitable electrical energy source, such as by solar energy, wind energy or grid power.
Portable indoor/outdoor atmospheric water generator
A wirelessly controlled device for atmospheric water generation is provided. The device comprises an atmospheric water generator for generating filtered potable water and a wireless external control system. The wireless external control system comprises one or more display presentation pages for displaying a plurality of operating parameters for the atmospheric water generator, including content display with a variety of operation parameters and historical water collection data for operation of the atmospheric water generator. The wireless external control also has one or more display pages configured for user input for a user to select one or more water generation parameters for operation of the atmospheric water generator. Once the device is directed by the wireless external control system to generate water, the device is capable of automatic water generation until the device fulfills the one or more set water generation parameters.
Systems and methods for distillation of water from seawater, brackish water, waste waters, and effluent waters
The present invention relates to water purification using solar energy. More specifically, systems and methods according to the present invention collect solar energy to heat non-potable water in a super-insulated structure. Compressed heated air is injected to evaporate water vapor out of brackish water, saltwater, or dirty water, thereby creating saturated air. The saturated air is drawn through a cooling tower and distilled water is precipitated. The systems and methods employ heat recovery and recycling processes to maximize energy efficiency.
