Computer-implemented system and method for cluster spine group arrangement
A computer-implemented system and method for cluster spine group arrangement is provided. A set of spine groups each having one or more spines of clusters and at least one singleton cluster is obtained. Unique spine groups are identified within the set and placed in a center of a display. At least a portion of the remaining spine groups in the set are placed to extend radially from the unique spine groups in the display center.
Graphical user interface for filtering items of interest
Disclosed herein is a graphical user interface (GUI) for filtering items of interest. In various embodiments, the GUI may be implemented as a method on a hardware-based system such as a computer server or other computing device. In one embodiment, the method includes defining a library of available criteria to be used in filtering a population of items for an end-user to identify items of interest. Each of the available criteria has a graphical representation. A GUI is presented to the end-user of the filtering criteria for constructing a graphical filter builder. An indication is received of each of the selected set of criteria from the end-user to construct and display a graphical representation of the filter. A query is constructed to identify the items of interest using the selected set of criteria. The identified items of interest are generated and displayed to the end-user.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING LOCALLY APPLICABLE INTERNET CONTENT WITH SECURE ACTION REQUESTS AND ITEM CONDITION ALERTS
Optimized delivery of locally applicable Internet content to users. A cache of locally applicable Internet content is maintained in a local content server, based upon a monitoring of locations of users requesting Internet content. Requests for Internet content are received from user equipment through a wireless network base station, and served from the local content server, which is logically proximate to the wireless network base station. The caching of locally applicable Internet content may be maintained on a layered basis. Secure action request receipt and corresponding performance, and item condition alerts are also described.
System And Method For Forming Spines Of Document Clusters With The Aid Of A Digital Computer
A system and method for forming spines of document clusters with the aid of a digital computer is provided. Concepts are generated for each of a plurality of document clusters. Candidate spines are selected for placement of at least a portion of the document clusters based on the concepts. The concepts generated for each document cluster are determined and for each concept, a number of other document clusters for which the concept is generated is determined. Those concepts that are generated for more than a single document cluster and that are generated for less than a threshold number of the document clusters are identified. The identified concepts are designated as candidate spine concepts and the candidate spines are formed based on the candidate spine concepts. Other clusters are assigned to the candidate spines based on the candidate spine concepts.
IDENTIFIER VOCABULARY DATA ACCESS METHOD AND SYSTEM
A method of organizing, managing, and providing interactive access to data in a database is disclosed, along with a program and a system for implementing the method. Associations between each data Item and at least one ItemSelector are established and stored. A predefined (but modifiable) Vocabulary of ItemSelectors sufficient to describe each Item of the database is created. Presently selected Items are described by a combination of associations defined by an appropriate Boolean combination of each ItemSelector in a presently selected set of ItemSelectors. A user controls the presently selected set by adding an ItemSelector from a presented group, or by removing a previously selected ItemSelector. The system ideally makes available to the user all relevant ItemSelectorsthose which, if added to the presently selected set, would result in a set that describes at least one extant data Item. The system ideally makes all presently selected Items available to the user.
MULTIPLE INDEX BASED INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM
An information retrieval system uses phrases to index, retrieve, organize and describe documents. Phrases are identified that predict the presence of other phrases in documents. Documents are the indexed according to their included phrases. The document index is partitioned into multiple indexes, including a primary index and a secondary index. The primary index stores phrase posting lists with relevance rank ordered documents. The secondary index stores excess documents from the posting lists in document order.
ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS ERROR CORRECTION FOR GESTURE TYPING
In one example, a method may include outputting, by a computing device and for display, a graphical keyboard comprising a plurality of keys, and receiving an indication of a gesture. The method may include determining an alignment score that is based at least in part on a word prefix and an alignment point traversed by the gesture. The method may include determining at least one alternative character that is based at least in part on a misspelling that includes at least a portion of the word prefix. The method may include determining an alternative alignment score based at least in part on the alternative character; and outputting, by the computing device and for display, based at least in part on the alternative alignment score, a candidate word based at least in part on the alternative character.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF HANDLING FILE METADATA
A network storage system comprises data storage, one or more file system APIs, and a metadata handler. The data storage can comprise file data and associated metadata. The file system APIs can be configured to read and write file data and metadata to and from the data storage. The metadata handler can have a library of functions for handling the metadata. The library can include a metadata blob creation function and a metadata blob extraction function. The metadata blob creation function cooperates with the file system APIs to read source metadata associated with specified file data and creates and populates a metadata blob from which a substantial copy of the source metadata can be generated. The metadata blob extraction function receives at least a metadata blob, extracts information from the metadata blob, and cooperates with the file system APIs to generate destination metadata, a substantial copy of the source metadata.
METHOD FOR CLICK-STREAM ANALYSIS USING WEB DIRECTORY REVERSE CATEGORIZATION
Information on a click stream associated with a user and meta tags commonly used by search engines can be used to profile a user. The click stream may comprise network addresses and timestamps and may be the only source of user information used for the profile. The meta tags may contain metadata that correspond to the network addresses in the click stream, including network address categorization for these network addresses. The profile obtained for the user may be an existing profile that represents a person or a theoretical individual having attributes similar to or most closely match the user. Based at least in part on the profile, information regarding an item may be provided to the user or the item may be offered to the user. Information may be filtered before being displayed to the user.
