Robotic welding equipment station
A robotic welding equipment station to detect deviation of a tool center point of a welding torch. The station is provided with pairs of light emitting and detecting devices to emit and detect two separate light beams. The pairs of light emitting devices and detectors are oriented at an angle and spaced apart from each other such that the two light beams are at an angle to one another and the weld wire electrode is able to simultaneously interrupt both light beams when there is no deviation in a tool center point. The spacing prevents the weld wire electrode from interrupting both light beams when an increasing deviation of the tool center point propagates along the length of the weld wire electrode. First and second output signals generated by the first and second light detectors are received by a means for detecting deviation of the tool center point.
Robotic Wire Termination System
A robotic wire termination system for efficiently connecting a plurality of wires to an electrical connector. The robotic wire termination system generally includes a frame, a connector support attached to the frame, a robot manipulator having at least one arm, a heating device attached to the at least one arm and a control unit in communication with the robot manipulator to control the operation of the robot manipulator. The arm of the robot manipulator is adapted to move the heating device so that the heating device can apply heat to a selected connector pin of the electrical connector.

Systems and methods for automated root pass welding
An automated welding system includes a welding robot and control circuitry. The welding bug robot includes a welding torch. The welding bug robot is configured to move on a track disposed around a circumference of a first pipe and perform a root pass welding operation at a joint between the first pipe and a second pipe. The control circuitry is configured to control movement of the welding bug robot around the circumference of the first pipe, apply a high energy welding phase via the welding torch to establish a first root condition, and apply a low energy welding phase via the welding torch to establish a second root condition.
Automated edge welding based on edge recognition using separate positioning and welding robots
A control application implements computer vision techniques to cause a positioning robot and a welding robot to perform fabrication operations. The control application causes the positioning robot to place elements of a structure at certain positions based on real-time visual feedback captured by the positioning robot. The control application also causes the welding robot to weld those elements into place based on real-time visual feedback captured by the welding robot. By analyzing the real-time visual feedback captured by both robots, the control application adjusts the positioning and welding operations in real time.

Tool holders for robotic systems having collision detection
An example robotic tool holder includes an actuator that is disposed within a housing and configured to hold a tool. The housing and the actuator are in contact via dowels to limit movement of the actuator toward a distal end of the housing. Ones of the dowels that are in contact are in line contact and the ones of the dowels that are in contact are in a triangular geometry. The pressure plate is in line contact with the actuator within the housing around a circumference of the pressure plate. The springs are in contact with the pressure plate to bias the actuator toward a proximal end of the housing via the pressure plate. The springs are in contact with the mounting plate opposite the pressure plate. The sensor switch detects a shock force on the actuator and outputs a signal in response to the shock force.

Method for resistance welding
A welding device of a robot arm includes a welding machine having a first pressing member which includes a cylindrical first pressing part and a second pressing member which includes a second pressing part inserted into a hollow of the first pressing part. A transformer supplies a positive (+) current to the first pressing member and a negative (−) current to the second pressing member. The first and second pressing parts have the same co-axis.
