A split ring includes a split ring body, the body having a first end and a second end; a first fastener hole defined by the first end of the split ring; a second fastener hole defined by the second end of the split ring; a gap defined by the first and second ends approaching each other wherein the first fastener hole and the second fastener hole are aligned to permit a fastener to extend through the first fastener hole, across the gap and through the second fastener hole; and a protrusion extending beyond the body of the split ring, the protrusion being located on the body opposite the gap. A method of forming a split ring includes: forming a split ring body; fixing onto the body a projection that projects above the body; and installing a closing mechanism into the split ring in order to allow the split ring to tighten over an object.

A clamp for use in joining conduit segments comprising a ring sector and a radially projecting channel sector having first and second straps, first and second compression members, a central compression member, and a fastener wherein upon tightening the fastener, axial forces along the fastener are transferred into clamping forces around the clamp in order to seal the conduit segments.

An improved hose clamp having an annular band having an inner face, tensioning means, and an annular spring liner; the spring liner having a circumferential shoulder near an edge of the liner; and a central, cylindrical, flat, contact portion of smaller circumference than the shoulder, and of smaller width than the inner face of the band. The shoulder is adapted to abut the inner face and the contact portion is adapted to contact a hose or other article to be clamped.

An improved hose clamp having an annular band having an inner face, tensioning means, and an annular spring liner; the spring liner having a circumferential shoulder near an edge of the liner; and a central, cylindrical, flat, contact portion of smaller circumference than the shoulder, and of smaller width than the inner face of the band. The shoulder is adapted to abut the inner face and the contact portion is adapted to contact a hose or other article to be clamped.

A steering clamp yoke includes a first side surface and a second side surface. The first side surface has a first surface segment and a second surface segment that is disposed in a non-parallel relationship with the first surface segment. The non-parallel relationship between the second surface segment and the first surface segment enables a bolt that is inserted into a bolt hole of the steering clamp yoke to contact both sides of the bolt hole to reduce or minimize bolt bending.

A locking-ring closure for fastening lids on containers has: at least one screw lock and further has an open locking ring (1) having a U- or V-shaped cross section, bearing blocks (3) and (4) arranged at the ends of the locking ring, one of which bearing blocks has a through-passage hole and the other an internal thread, a screw (2) which extends through the through-passage hole in the one bearing block (3) and engages by way of its thread in the internal thread of the other bearing block (4), wherein the screw extends beyond the width of this bearing block and, on the portion that emerges from the bearing block, carries a fixed threaded ring (5) enclosing said portion. The screw (2) has, at its end opposite the screw head (6), a portion (8) adjacent to the threaded ring and arranged on that side of the threaded ring (5) that faces the screw head, which portion (8) has no thread engaging in the internal thread of the bearing block (4) and extends at least over the width of the bearing block.

A split ring includes a split ring body, the body having a first end and a second end; a first fastener hole defined by the first end of the split ring; a second fastener hole defined by the second end of the split ring; a gap defined by the first and second ends approaching each other wherein the first fastener hole and the second fastener hole are aligned to permit a fastener to extend through the first fastener hole, across the gap and through the second fastener hole; and a protrusion extending beyond the body of the split ring, the protrusion being located on the body opposite the gap. Screw connection, in particular, a tension clamp, and method of forming the screw connection. The screw connection includes a screw having a screw head and an external thread with a thread turn profile and a thread axis, and a mating thread element having an internal thread, matched to the external thread, with at least one thread groove bordered by thread flanks to screwably receive the screw. A geometrically defined deformation of the external thread is arranged at a predetermined distance from the screw head to collide with at least one thread flank during the screwing of the screw into the mating thread element.

Embodiments of the adjustable clamps having a curved body having an inner surface, an outer surface, a first side section, a second side section, a middle section, a recess, and a bore to receive a fastener to compress, or expand the adjustable clamps are presented herein.
