Modifications of therapeutic agents for enhanced delivery to target sites
Compositions of a modulator of cell metabolism, typically targeting cellular glycolysis, preferably with a targeting moiety, attached directly or indirectly to the inhibitor, or to a nanoparticle or other delivery vehicle thereof, and methods of use for treating cancer, proliferative disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune disorders, or inflammatory diseases are provided. Pharmaceutical compositions including the targeted modulator and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier are also provided. The pharmaceutical compositions can be administered to a subject in need thereof in an effective amount to reduce one or symptoms of the cancer, proliferative disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune disorders, or inflammatory diseases alone or prior to or in conjunction with a further therapy such as radiotherapy.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PRECISELY SIZED MACRO- AND MICRO-ELP CONTAINING PARTICLES FOR THE DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AGENTS
This disclosure relates to macro- and micro-sized elastin-like polymers (ELP). The addition of a polyethyleneimine (PEI) block to the terminal end of ELP allows the particle radius as well as LCST to be controlled by changing any combination of polymer concentration, ion concentration, and pH. The addition of the PEI block also provides the ability to crosslink the copolymers and achieve a stable particle radius.

Ophthalmic Drug Delivery Method
A method of treatment is disclosed herein. The method includes administering to a patient in need thereof a polymer implant device containing a biocompatible drug, or a plurality of nanoparticles or microparticles conjugated with the biocompatible drug, the biocompatible drug comprising one or more Rock inhibitors, one or more Wnt inhibitors, one or more integrin inhibitors, and/or one or more glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3) inhibitors, the patient having a medical condition selected from the group consisting of dry eye, glaucoma, retinal detachment, retinal degeneration, age-related macular degeneration, a cataract, uveitis, a corneal genetic disease, postoperative inflammation, immune-related inflammatory processes, diabetic retinopathy, a side effect occurring after cataract surgery, a side effect occurring after refractive surgery, and combinations thereof. The administration of the biocompatible drug to the patient treats the medical condition, reduces the symptoms associated with the medical condition, enhances nerve regeneration, and/or alleviates the medical condition.

Micro/nano magnetic hydrogels with autofluorescence for therapeutic and diagnostic applications
Hydrogel nanoparticles and microparticles are prepared by a water-in-oil method from natural polymers that are water miscible, a hydrophobic polyol and a crosslinking agent. The hydrogel nanoparticles are auto fluorescent and can be used for imaging of cells and a biological entity. The hydrogel nanoparticles and microparticles can include magnetic nanoparticles and carry desired bioactive entities. The hydrogel nanoparticles and microparticles are useful for diagnostics and as therapeutics purposes including drug delivery, imaging of drug migration, and selectivity by the tagging or binding of the hydrogel nanoparticles and microparticles with appropriate antibodies or antigens.

Provided herein are methods of treatment, compositions, systems and kits using polymer particles as restraints of neutrophil function. Such methods include, but are not limited to, methods of preventing, treating, and/or ameliorating inflammatory diseases, infections, autoimmune diseases, malignant diseases, and other diseases or conditions in which neutrophils may be implicated. In some embodiments, polymer particles are useful for diagnosing neutrophil related diseases or conditions.
