The present invention relates to a radioactive compound with improved targeting ability for melanoma and a pharmaceutical composition for the treating melanoma comprising the same, and the targeting ability for melanoma is improved as compared to the conventional contrast agent for melanoma. The radioactive compound according to an embodiment of the present invention shows a very excellent therapeutic effect on melanoma.

PSMA-targeting imaging agents

A PSMA-specific imaging agent comprising a compound according to formula I: ##STR00001## are described, wherein S.sup.1 is an organic spacer group having from 5 to 30 carbons, A is an amino acid forming a portion of a negatively charged peptide oligomer, n is from 3 to 6, S.sup.2 is an organic spacer group having from 5 to 15 carbons, and I is an imaging group, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The PSMA-specific imaging agents can be used to image PSMA within a tissue region to guide the treatment of diseases such as prostate cancer.

NOVEL FORMULATION AND METHOD OF SYNTHESIS

The present invention provides a novel method for the preparation of .sup.18F-fluoride (18F) for use in radiofluorination reactions. The method of the invention finds use especially in the preparation of 18F-labelled positron emission tomography (PET) tracers. The method of the invention is particularly advantageous where bulk solutions are prepared and stored in prefilled vials rather than being freshly prepared on the day of synthesis. Also provided by the present invention is a radiofluorination reaction which comprises the method of the invention, as well as a cassette for use in carrying out the method of the invention and/or the radiofluorination method of the invention on an automated radiosynthesis apparatus.
