A method for treating melanoma or preventing the development of melanoma comprising administration of a composition comprising .sup.64Zn.sub.e(Asp).sub.2 in a therapeutically effective amount. Such administration may be via injection such as intratumoral and/or intravenous injection and may be once a day or more than once a day. A composition for the treatment of or prevention of melanoma comprising .sup.64Zn.sub.e(Asp).sub.2 in a therapeutically effective amount. The composition may be a liquid suitable for injection.

The invention provides, in some embodiments, methods relating to assessing increased risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF), and/or the likelihood of responding to particular AF therapies using imaging agents comprising an MMP inhibitor linked to an imaging moiety. The invention further provides methods for evaluating the presence of the risk of developing other cardiovascular conditions and assessing the effectiveness of treatment or other intervention for such conditions by determining MMP levels.
