A plurality of rings are attached to the back panel to allow the user to convert the strap from a backpack configuration to an over the shoulder configuration without removing or disconnecting the strap. The handle attached to the back panel allows the user to carry the handbag in one's hand or worn in the crook of the elbow. A method of converting the strap from a backpack configuration to an over the shoulder configuration is provided comprising holding the strap at a center section and releasing the handbag to extend a length of the strap for an over a shoulder or a cross-body carrying setting.

A convertible bag 10 comprising: a handle 30; and two retractable straps 40, wherein each retractable strap 40 is extendable from the bag and releasably attachable to the handle 30, so as to convert the convertible bag 10 from a handbag configuration in which the bag may be carried using the handle 30, to a backpack configuration in which the bag may be carried using backpack straps formed from the handle 30 and the retractable straps 40, and wherein each retractable strap 40 is releasable from the handle 30 and retractable, so as to convert the convertible bag 10 from the backpack configuration to the handbag configuration.

A device for protecting the underside of a carryall from a surface is disclosed. The device comprises a base and a wall attached along the perimeter of the base and extending upward. The area bounded by the top edge of the wall can be contracted and expanded. The carryall is placed in the device, resting on the base, and the top edge of the wall is contracted to fit snugly around the carryall. The device creates a barrier between the underside of the carryall and undesirable substances on the surface and also helps preserve the carryall.

The present invention relates to a user configurable bag having a main body, a reversible bag flap and a fastening mechanism. The main body includes a first side panel, a first bottom panel, a second bottom panel and a second side panel. The reversible bag flap includes a leading section, a middle section, a bottom section and an end section. The bag flap has a first orientation and a second orientation, wherein an initially inside-facing surface of the bag flap in the first orientation transitions to become an outside-facing surface in the second orientation, thereby enabling the user to dramatically alter the external appearance of the bag at will.
