Cosmetic and dermatological compositions, including color changing compositions, are provided which typically include a plurality of synthetic particles having a size in the micrometer or nanometer range. Each synthetic particle typically includes one or more aggregates of a pigment selected from phenoxazone, phenoxazine, and a derivate or precursor thereof, and a stabilizing material which has a refractive index larger than 1.45; the aggregates having a size larger than about 100 nm and the composition being biodegradable and biocompatible.

Photochromic compositions, markers containing the same, and systems and methods for their use

An ink composition including at least one photochromic pigment or dye, at least one film-forming resin, and at least one solvent in which the at least one photochromic pigment or dye and the at least one film-forming resin are dispersible or dissolvable, wherein the components of the ink composition are present in respective amounts such that the ink composition is in the form of a liquid or gel until evaporation of the at least one solvent, and wherein, upon evaporation of the at least one solvent, the at least one film-forming resin forms a film that (a) inhibits the ink composition from degrading when covered with the sunscreen product or (b) inhibits the ink composition from washing off when the sunscreen is washed off or both, the film-forming resin including shellac, polyurethane, acrylic polymer, silicone polymer or a mixture thereof.

Compositions for dyeing hair with cationic direct dyes

Described herein is a hair color composition for dyeing the hair. The hair color composition includes one or more direct dye compounds and one or more additional ingredients. The one or more direct dye compounds each include a chromophore, one or two permanent cations, one to four incipient cations, and one or more hydrophobic moieties. The incipient cations are pendant to the core structure and are neutral. The one or more direct dye compounds enter the hair shaft after the hair color composition is applied to the hair. The hair color composition has a pH of from about 7 to about 11.

REVERSIBLY THERMOCHROMIC COMPOSITION, REVERSIBLY THERMOCHROMIC MICROCAPSULE PIGMENT ENCAPSULATING REVERSIBLY THERMOCHROMIC COMPOSITION, AND WRITING INSTRUMENT USING REVERSIBLY THERMOCHROMIC MICROCAPSULE PIGMENT

[Problems] Provided are a highly marketable reversibly thermochromic composition that provides a black color during color development by using a fluoran derivative having a specific structure as an electron-donating color-developing organic compound, turns colorless during decoloration, and is excellent in contrast between a colored state and a decolored state and a microcapsule pigment encapsulating the same.

[Solution] Disclosed are a reversibly thermochromic composition including: (a) a fluoran derivative having a specific structure as an electron-donating color-developing organic compound; (b) an electron-accepting compound; and (c) a reaction medium which reversibly induces an electron transfer reaction between the component (a) and the component (b) in a specific temperature range, and a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment encapsulating the same.

COLOR CHANGING COSMETIC ADHESIVES

Color changing cosmetic adhesives for adhering a cosmetic i tem. The color changing cosmetic adhesives include an adhesive formulation and a dye formulation. The dye formulation is distributed within the adhesive formulation. The dye formulation is configured to impart a first color to the adhesive formulation while the adhesive formulation is stored in a container. The dye formulation is configured to impart a second color to the adhesive formulation after the adhesive formulation is applied to skin. In some examples, the color changing cosmetic adhesive includes a preservative formulation.
