ANTIPERSPIRANT COMPOSITIONS
An oil-in-water emulsion comprising a liquid C.sub.10-C.sub.22 fatty acid, an emulsifier and a water-soluble metal salt capable of forming a water-insoluble salt with the C.sub.10-C.sub.22 fatty acid at a pH of greater than 6 and thereby giving an antiperspirancy benefit on topical application to the skin.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing the following Components (A), (B), and (C): Component (A): a hydrophobic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more, and has a glass transition temperature Tg of 30° C. or higher, the polymer having the same electric charge as the following Component (B), or not having an electric charge; Component (B): a hydrophilic ionic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more; and Component (C): an ionic polymer which dissolves in ethanol at 25° C. in an amount of 1% by mass or more, the ionic polymer having a different kind of an electric charge to that of the Component (B). The cosmetic composition of the present invention can be suitably used in cosmetics for hair.
Organic compounds
Disclosed is a process for preparing an encapsulated fragrance composition. The composition comprises a plurality of microcapsules dispersed in a dispersion medium. The microcapsules comprise a core and a shell around the core. The process comprises the consecutive steps of: a) Providing an aqueous phase (I) comprising at least one anionically modified polyisocyanate (A); b) Providing an organic phase (II) comprising at least one fragrance ingredient; c) Mixing the aqueous phase (I) and the an organic phase (II) to obtain a mixture; d) Forming an emulsion comprising droplets of the organic phase (II) in the continuous aqueous phase (I); e) Adding at least one polyfunctional amine; f) Effecting formation of shells around the droplets formed in step d), to obtain a dispersion of microcapsules. The process comprises the additional step of adding a polyisocyanate (B), which is different from polyisocyanate (A).
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING REACTION PRODUCTS OF SACCHARIDE POLYMERS AND FATTY ESTERS FORMULATED WITH A NEUTRAL SURFACTANT
Compositions comprising a reaction product of a saccharide polymer and a fatty ester may be obtained in an aqueous phase in the presence of a hydroxide base and a neutral surfactant, the saccharide polymer comprising a dextran, a dextrin compound, or any combination thereof. The compositions also comprise one or more alcohols originating from the fatty ester upon forming the reaction product of the saccharide polymer and the fatty ester. The reaction product of the saccharide polymer and the fatty ester may be present in the aqueous phase at a concentration effective to lower a surface tension of the neutral surfactant. The fatty ester may comprise one or more glycerol esters, such as one or more plant and/or animal oils and/or fats, and the one or more alcohols originating from the fatty ester may comprise glycerol. Fatty acids originating from the fatty ester may be substantially straight-chain fatty acids.
Oral care compositions
This application provides, among other things, novel aqueous oral care compositions useful for combining and delivering poorly compatible ingredients, for example to deliver effective levels of cationic antibacterial agents in combination with anionic polymers that protect against erosion and staining, by addition of a stabilizing amount of a polyamine, e.g., lysine, and methods for making and using the same.

NATURALLY DERIVED SURFACTANT SYSTEM WITH POLYGLYCEROL ESTERS AND COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING THE SAME
The present invention is directed to a naturally derived surfactant system and an end use composition comprising the surfactant system. The naturally derived surfactant system comprises an anionic and nonionic surfactant comprising polyglycerol ester that is stable in an end use composition having a pH from 4.8 to 6.5. Such end use compositions are mild, have excellent lathering characteristics, and do not require glycinates, polyglycosides, betaines, sultaines and sulfates.
SHAMPOO COMPOSITION
A shampoo composition delivering consumer desired lather, cleaning and viscosity comprising from about 8 wt % to about 35 wt % of decyl glucoside having an average alkyl chain length of about C10; from about 0.25 wt % to about 1.0 wt % alkyl glucoside with an average alkyl chain of C12 and greater; from about 0.4% to 2.0% of a gum selected from non-ionic and anionic gums consisting of xanthan gum, sclerotium gum, guar gum, locust bean gum, tragacanth gum, acacia gum, agar gum, algin gum, gellan gum, carob gum, karaya gum biosacharide gum, calcium carrageenan, potassium carrageenan, sodium carrageenan, potassium alginate, ammonium alginate, calcium alginate and any combination thereof.
N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer, cosmetic, absorbent agent for ink, and absorbent composite
The invention aims to provide a crosslinked polymer having excellent moisture retention properties, an excellent ethanol absorption capacity, excellent adhesiveness to the skin when applied to the skin as a cosmetic, and a high concentration of an effective component. The invention relates to a N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer including: a structural unit derived from a N-vinyl lactam; and a structural unit derived from a crosslinking agent, the N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer having an ethanol absorption capacity of 3 to 40 g per 1 g of the N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer, the N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer containing a particle having an aspect ratio determined by the following method of 1.15 to 10 in a proportion of 10% to 100% (by number) of the total number of the N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer and having a proportion of an extractable of 35 mass % or less in 100 mass % of the entire polymer, the method being “method of measuring aspect ratio” in which the aspect ratio is determined as a value obtained by measuring the major and minor axes of a primary particle of the N-vinyl lactam-based cross-linked polymer with an optical or electron microscope and dividing the major axis by the minor axis.
