A handsaw is provided with which chip clogging can be reduced significantly, the pitch of the tooth points can be made fine, the cut end face, called top edge, of each tooth can be increased in area, and moreover, cutting resistance is kept small and good cutting performance is ensured. The handsaw has a plurality of saw teeth arranged on a longitudinal edge (21) of a saw blade (20). The saw teeth are configured as a combination of crosscutting teeth (X) of triangular or trapezoidal prism shape and ripping teeth (Y) of parallelogram-based prism shape. The prism-shaped teeth constituting the crosscutting teeth (X) and the ripping teeth (Y) are configured such that at least adjacent prism-shaped teeth rise at a same rising angle () from an edge surface (21a) of the longitudinal edge (21) of the saw blade (20), to cause a space (S) between the adjacent prism-shaped teeth to be constant in a rising direction in which the teeth rise.

A laterally cutting saw blade assembly includes a plate that has a pair of opposed faces, a center and a peripheral edge having a plurality of shoulders attached thereto. Each of the shoulders has a pair of opposed faces. The shoulders each have a distal edge with respect to the peripheral edge. The distal edge of each of the shoulders extends between a tailing edge and a leading edge of each of the shoulders. A plurality of teeth is provided. Each of the leading edges has one of the teeth attached thereto. The teeth extend laterally away from each of the opposed faces. The teeth form a plurality of cutting surfaces extending continuously from the distal edge toward the center a distance equal to at least equal to 1.90 cm. The plate is mounted to a cutting assembly and rotated to cut lateral to the opposed faces.

SAW BLADE WITH MULTIPLE TANGS AND METHOD OF USE
20180099342 · 2018-04-12 ·

This application discloses a method of using a reciprocating saw blade having an elongated body with a front body portion and a rear body portion, each body portion having a front end, a rear end, an elongated cutting edge extending between the front end and the rear end and a back edge opposite the cutting edge. The saw blade may be coupled to the reciprocating saw by coupling a first tang that extends from the rear end of the rear body portion to the reciprocating saw. The saw blade may be removed from reciprocating saw, and a second tang, which extends from the rear end of the front body portion, may be exposed by breaking off an entirety of the rear body portion in a single integral piece from the front body portion. The front body portion, without the rear body portion, may be coupled to the reciprocating saw by coupling the exposed second tang to the reciprocating saw.

Saw blade with multiple tangs

A saw blade includes an elongated body having a front end, a rear end, an elongated cutting edge extending between the front edge and the rear edge and defining a longitudinal axis, and a back edge opposite the cutting edge. A first tang is coupled to the rear end of the body and configured to couple the saw blade to a saw. The first tang faces a rearward direction away from the front end of the body. A second tang is defined in an intermediate portion of the body and configured to couple the saw blade to a saw. The second tang also faces the rearward direction. The second tang can be exposed by breaking off a portion of the body.

RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE

A reciprocating saw blade includes an axially elongated blade body having a first end portion, a second end portion, a cutting edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, and an opposite back edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion. An exposed first tang is coupled to the first end portion and is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw. An unexposed second tang is defined by a first score in the blade body between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first score is configured so that the second tang can be exposed by breaking off a first removable portion of the blade body at the first score. The second tang is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw when the second tang is exposed.

A wood cutting band saw blade includes band and a plurality of teeth extending upward from a continuous band portion. Each tooth includes a cutting edge and a back angle edge defining a tip, and a gullet. The gullet includes a forward edge extending from the back angle edge to a lowest point of the gullet, and a rearward edge extending upward from the lowest point to a cutting edge of an adjacent tooth. In some embodiments, wherein the lowest point of the gullet is closer to the tip than to a tip of the adjacent tooth.
