SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASURING ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF MEDICAL FLUIDS

A device for measuring conductivity of a fluid. The device including a chamber and at least two electrodes. The chamber includes an inlet, an outlet, an upper surface, and a lower surface that runs separate from the upper surface. The fluid enters the chamber through the inlet and flows out of the chamber through the outlet. Moving along a length of the chamber from the inlet to the outlet or from the outlet to the inlet, a distance between the upper surface and the lower surface changes in at least one dimension of the chamber. The two electrodes are configured to measure electrical voltage in the fluid that enters the chamber through the inlet and flows out of the chamber through the outlet.

Modular fluid therapy system having jumpered flow paths and systems and methods for cleaning and disinfection

The system has a base module that has at least one segment of a controlled compliant flow path and at least one pair of jumpered ports configured on the base module. One or more components have connections connectable to the jumpered ports of the base module to provide for fluid communication between the segment of the controlled compliant flow path in the base module and a flow path defined by the one or more components. The base module is connected to the one or more components that define a flow path configurable for carrying out in part at least one function performed during any one of hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration or hemofiltration.

Dialysis systems and methods for operating dialysis machines (e.g., peritoneal dialysis machines) for conducting dialysis treatments are disclosed. The dialysis system may include a dialysis machine for transferring dialysate to a patient from a dialysate bag. The dialysate may flow from the dialysate bag through a disposable cartridge or cassette positionable within the dialysis machine. A filter may be included in, coupled to, etc., the dialysis machine. In use, the filter may be configured to filter out air content from the dialysate. In some embodiments, the filter may be incorporated into and/or operatively coupled to the disposable cartridge or cassette inserted into the dialysis machine.

A fluid pumping system may comprise a pump and a fluid line state detector having, a receptacle, at sensor, and an illuminator. The system may further comprise a fluid transfer set including an output line for mating into the receptacle. The system may further comprise a controller in data communication with the fluid line state detector configured to power the illuminator and monitor an output signal of the sensor when the outlet line is in the receptacle to determine a dry tube light intensity value. The controller may be further configured to govern operation of the pump to prime the output line with fluid. The controller may be further configured to power the illuminator, monitor the output signal, and halt operation of the pump when the output signal indicates the light intensity value has dropped below a primed line threshold which is dependent upon the dry tube intensity value.

Disposable apparatus and kit for conducting dialysis

An extracorporeal blood processing system comprises a plastic molded compact manifold that supports a plurality of molded blood and dialysate fluidic pathways along with a plurality of relevant sensors, valves and pumps. A disposable dialyzer is connected to the molded manifold to complete the blood circuit of the system. The compact manifold is also disposable in one embodiment and can be detachably installed in the dialysis machine.

DIALYSIS MACHINE

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a dialysis system having a disposable cartridge which includes one or more flowpaths arranged on or within the cartridge, where the one or more flowpaths including at least one of a blood flowpath for carrying a volume of blood to be treated in a dialyser and a dialysate flowpath, isolated from the blood flowpath, for delivering a flow of dialysate solution through the dialyser.

Medical heat exchanger for heating medical fluids by means of a light emitter and medical fluid treatment device having a light emitter

The present invention proposes a medical heat exchanger for heating with a light emitter. The heat exchanger disclosed here has at least one fluid chamber having at least one outside wall which forms the fluid chamber with a fluid-tight seal, such that the fluid chamber is configured for receiving and/or conducting the medical fluid and such that the fluid chamber has at least one component, which is configured as a light absorber and is arranged within the fluid chamber in at least some sections so that there is direct contact between the component configured as the light absorber and the medical fluid in at least some sections when receiving and/or conducting the medical fluid and wherein the outside wall of the fluid chamber has at least one light-transmitting section, so that the light emitted by the light emitter can heat the absorber without any local temperature peaks on the medical heat exchanger.
