Extracorporeal device and method for removal of secondary membrane
An extracorporeal blood treatment device and a method are provided for removing a secondary membrane formed on a semipermeable membrane of a dialyzer during an extracorporeal blood treatment. The extracorporeal blood treatment device operates in a first operating mode in which a dialysate outlet valve is open such that dialysate flows through a dialyzer feed line, through a dialysate chamber, and into and through a dialyzer discharge line. The extracorporeal blood treatment device operates in a second operating mode to remove the secondary membrane from the semipermeable membrane. During the second operating mode, the dialysate outlet valve is closed for a duration of time such that dialysate is prevented from flowing through the dialyzer discharge line. A backflush procedure results wherein a volume of dialysate passes from the dialysate chamber through the semipermeable membrane and into the blood chamber.
Balanced flow dialysis machine
A system and method for balancing flows of renal replacement fluid is disclosed. The method uses pressure controls and pressure sensing devices to more precisely meter and balance the flow of fresh dialysate and spent dialysate. The balancing system may use one or two balancing devices, such as a balance tube, a tortuous path, or a balance chamber.
Dialysis machine for carrying out a push/pull dialysis treatment
The invention relates to a dialysis machine having a fluid system that has an inflow line for providing fresh dialyzing solution to a dialyzer and an outflow line for removing used dialyzing solution from the dialyzer, wherein the fluid system has a balancing system arranged between the inflow and outflow lines to balance the fluid volumes flowing through the lines, and wherein the fluid system has an ultrafiltration line that branches off from the outflow line between the dialyzer and the balancing system and has an ultrafiltration pump to be able to remove a defined volume of used dialyzing solution from the balance, and wherein an additional balancing chamber is provided that is arranged in a section of the inflow line disposed between the balancing system and the dialyzer or in a section of the outflow line disposed between the dialyzer and the branching of the ultrafiltration line.
DIALYSATE REGENERATOR COMPRISING REVERSIBLE RETAINER
An aspect of the disclosure relates to a dialysate regenerator, including: a purification means; at least one reversible retainer including an ion reservoir; a dialysate flow path including a dialysate inlet for receiving a dialysate, a dialysate outlet for dispensing the dialysate, the purification means and the at least one reversible retainer: a pump connected to the dialysate flow path and configured to generate a flow of the dialysate from the dialysate inlet via the reversible retainer and the purification means to the dialysate outlet, wherein a direction of the dialysate flow path through the reversible retainer is reversible.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISCONNECTION
The invention relates to a medical apparatus designed to receive a detachable fluid-conducting first line portion (3). The medical apparatus comprises a second line portion (2) designed to be connected to the first line portion (3), wherein a movable element (38) is situated in the second line portion (2), by means of which movable element the second line portion (2) is separated into a first sub-portion (2a) and a second sub-portion (2b). In addition, the medical device comprises: at least a first and a second blocking element (7, 8) for enclosing a fluid volume in the first line portion (3) and the second line portion (2); and a pump (6) for generating a vacuum in a first of the two sub-portions (2a, 2b) of the second line portion (2), as a result of which elastic deformation takes place in and/or on the second of the two sub-portions (2a, 2b) and the movable element (38) is moved; and a controller for controlling the pump (6), wherein the controller is programmed, in a disconnection mode, to operate the pump (6) to generate the vacuum.
Dialysis machine
A disposable cartridge for use in a hemodialysis machine has a blood flow path for carrying a volume of blood to be treated in a dialyser and a dialysate flow path, isolated from the blood flow path, for delivering a flow of dialysate solution through the dialyser. The cartridge is received in an engine section of the machine. The engine section has first and second platens which close when the cartridge is inserted to retain the cartridge. Actuators and sensors arranged on the second platen control operation of the cartridge.
Blood rinseback system and method
A hemodialysis system is provided and includes a dialyzer, a dialysis fluid circuit in fluid communication with the dialyzer, a blood circuit, a blood detector and a blood rinseback scheme, wherein the blood rinseback scheme includes transferring blood to the patient using a physiologically acceptable fluid, wherein the physiologically acceptable fluid is introduced from its source into an arterial line between an arterial line patient end and a blood pump of the blood circuit, and flowed through the dialyzer, through a venous drip chamber and to the blood detector along a venous line of the blood circuit, where the physiologically acceptable fluid is sensed by the blood detector to indicate an end of the blood rinseback.
