Self-aligning modular latch
A container is disclosed that has a housing and a lid. The lid has a planar portion and a latch that is freely movable parallel to the planar portion of the lid. The latch has a retention feature and a first reference surface that is perpendicular to the planar portion of the lid. There is a latch mechanism coupled to the housing that has an engagement element configured to engage the retention feature of the latch and a first alignment feature having a first alignment surface. The first alignment feature is configured to laterally displace the latch in a first direction such that the first reference surface aligns with the first alignment surface when the lid is brought together with the housing with the fastener laterally displaced away from the engagement element in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction.
Adjustable pressure relief latch
A latch including a housing having side members each having an elongated slot, a bolt mounted rotatably to the housing and positioned between the side members of the housing, an adjustment mechanism, and a pin and roller positioned slidably within the elongated slots of the side members of the housing. The adjustment mechanism includes a compression spring, a central cap for receiving the pin and roller therethrough, and a nut for adjusting the load on the compression spring. The bolt is moveable between a first, closed position, in which the pin and roller are engaged with the bolt, and a second open position, in which the pin and roller are disengaged from the bolt. The latch can be opened automatically when a defined load, as adjusted by the adjustment mechanism, is provided on the bolt to disengage the pin and roller from the bolt.
Latch apparatus
A wire crate latch apparatus having, in a first embodiment, a pivoting member that is continually drawn to a closed position by gravity and that is deflected into a catch when the door having the pivoting member is swung closed. The latch apparatus further includes upper and lower stops to contain a distal end of the pivoting member and to hold the distal end in the position to hit an oblique portion of the catch when the door is closed. In a second embodiment, a sliding latch apparatus is deflected by a catch and is relatively inaccessible from inside of the wire crate by back plates on the latch and catch.
Method for producing motor vehicle locks with an oblique main latch contour
In order to minimize the sliding friction occurring between the locking parts, that is, between the pawl and the rotary latch of a motor vehicle lock, it is advantageous if, during the machining process, the different latch surfaces of both locking parts are provided with a punched contour and with a contour having a oblique machining groove. Machining grooves are formed, in particular on the latch surface thereof, after stamping the pawl. Defined shapes of oblique channels and/or machining grooves are produced, for example, by milling out the machining grooves. The oblique machining grooves are produced at a defined angle and guarantee that the straight channels on the rotary latch only have a few overlapping points with the oblique grooves, if both locking parts come into contact with each other.
LOCKABLE LATCH HANDLE ASSEMBLY
A lockable latch handle assembly for enclosures such as truck tool boxes comprises the combination of a key cylinder, and a latch handle that may be secured by a padlock to the front wall of the box, to collectively prevent opening of latches that secure the lid of the box in a closed position.

Motor vehicle door lock
The subject matter of the present invention is a motor vehicle door lock, the basic construction of which is equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2) consisting essentially of a rotary latch (1) and a detent pawl (2), furthermore with a release element (3) for the locking mechanism (1, 2) and with a storage element (4). The storage element (4) ensures an unobstructed opening movement of the rotary latch (1) from a closed position into an open position. According to the invention, for this purpose, the storage element (4) holds the release element (3) during the opening movement of the rotary latch (1) in an ineffective position with respect to the locking mechanism (1, 2).
Dual unlocking hood latch system
A dual unlocking hood latch system allows a user to open a hood of the automobile vehicle while staying in the vehicle. The dual unlocking hood latch system includes a base fixed to a main body. The base includes a moving groove portion to guide the movement of a striker. A latch gear, which includes a plurality of locking portions, is pivotably attached to a front side of the base to retain the striker when the striker is entered through the moving groove portion to a locking position. A pawl, pivotably attached to the base, controls the movement of the latch gear by transmitting rotational motion when in contact. And a stopper portion, pivotably attached to the base, is elastically biased to move toward the pawl such that the stopper portion is pushed by the pawl to restrain pivoting movement of the latch gear.
ELECTROMAGNETIC CABINET LOCK
A latching mechanism selectively joins two surfaces and/or objects and includes a latch and a catch. The latch includes a pivoting locking member with respect to the latch that pivots between a locked position and an unlocked position. First and second electromagnetic coils housed within the latch are selectively energized to cause pivotal movement of the locking member. The catch defines at least one pocket for receiving a portion of the locking member when the locking member is in the locked position and the latch and the catch are engaged.
