Disclosed is a sealing device for sealing at least one first volume of an arrangement for the treatment of at least one medical fluid against at least one second volume, wherein the first volume is provided for receiving at least one external functional device. The sealing device includes at least one first connection device whereby the sealing device may be connected to the arrangement. In addition an arrangement and a method are disclosed.
Collection of mononuclear cells upon mid-procedure termination
Mid-procedure termination of a mononuclear cell collection procedure may prevent collection of an amount of red blood cells that is required to harvest a complete mononuclear cell product. Blood separation systems and methods are provided for minimizing the impact of or recovering from mid-procedure termination of such a mononuclear cell collection procedure. According to one approach, blood or separated red blood cells are conveyed into a red blood cell collection container relatively early in the procedure to minimize the impact of a later termination of the procedure. According to another approach, blood and/or separated red blood cells within a fluid processing assembly are redirected through the fluid processing assembly following mid-procedure termination to allow for at least partial mononuclear cell collection. According to yet another approach, a double-needle fluid processing assembly may be converted into a single-needle configuration to allow for continued processing following mid-procedure termination.
Methods And Systems For High-Throughput Blood Component Collection
Described are embodiments that include methods and devices for separating components from multi-component fluids. Embodiments may involve use of separation vessels and movement of components into and out of separation vessels through ports. Embodiments may involve the separation of plasma from whole blood. Also described are embodiments that include methods and devices for positioning portions, e.g., loops, of disposables in medical devices. Embodiments may involve use of surfaces for automatically guiding loops to position them into a predetermined position.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR REDUCING THE RISK OF BACTERIAL CONTAMINATION IN COLLECTED PLATELETS
Methods and systems for reducing bacterial contamination of platelets are disclosed. The methods and systems disclosed herein provide for the processing of a pre-determined volume of whole blood so as to reduce the risk that platelets separated and collected from the whole blood have a reduced risk of bacterial contamination.
Medicament Preparation and Treatment Devices, Methods, and Systems
A medicament preparation system, according to an embodiment, includes a water purification module and a medicament proportioning module. The system is configured to allow convenient and safe use in a home environment or a critical care environment as well as others affording safety, reliability, and a compact form factor.
FLUID PROCESSING CASSETTE AND SENSOR COUPLING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A fluid processing cassette and sensor coupling system is disclosed, comprising a cassette comprising a cap having an opening formed by an inner cylindrical wall having a first diameter, an outer cylindrical wall having a second diameter, and a contact surface connecting the inner and outer cylindrical walls. The contact surface includes a varying diameter that decreases from the second diameter to the first diameter. A sensor post comprises a ring disposed around a cylindrical body and is positioned to engage with the contact surface of the cap to form a seal.
Medicament Preparation and Treatment Devices, Methods, and Systems
A medicament preparation system includes a water purification module and a medicament proportioning module that is interoperable with a replaceable fluid circuit. The fluid circuit includes a purified water inlet, a product medicament outlet, and a plurality of pumping tube segments. At least a first concentrate container is connected by at least a portion of the fluid circuit to the product medicament output and a first concentration measurement sensor station is positioned in a flow path. A controller is programmed to calculate iteratively a concentration of a first concentrate from the first concentrate container and the purified water from a signal generated by the first concentration measurement sensor station and to regulate one or both of a first pumping actuator engaged with the first pumping tube segment and a second pumping actuator engaged with the second pumping tube segment, responsively to the concentration of the first concentrate and water.
System for blood separation with gravity valve for controlling a side-tapped separation chamber
A disposable blood separation set and a centrifugal blood processing system comprising a blood processing chamber adapted to be mounted on a rotor of a centrifuge; a frustro-conical cell separation chamber in fluid communication with the processing chamber, the cell separation chamber having an inlet, a primary outlet and a side tap outlet adjacent the inlet. A valve that is responsive to centrifugal force (a “gravity” valve) selects between the outlet and the side tap outlet. The gravity valve is mounted on the rotor. When the rotor spins at high speed, the gravity valve may open the primary outlet and close the side tap outlet. When the rotor spins at a lower speed, the gravity valve may open the side tap outlet and close the primary outlet.
Extracorporeal blood treatment system and method including user-interactable settings
Graphical user interfaces for use with extracorporeal blood treatment systems may include a plurality of displayable settings cards. The plurality of settings cards may be grouped or arranged into a card set and a plurality of card subsets. Each of the card set and the plurality of card subsets may be displayable as a stack of settings cards with at least one settings card presented at the forefront of the stack to a user. Further, each settings card of the plurality of settings cards may also be displayed by itself.
A BLOOD PROCESSING APPARATUS COMPRISING A MEASUREMENT DEVICE
A blood processing apparatus (1) comprises a measurement device (8) having a first chamber element (80) for measuring a haematocrit value of a blood fluid, the first chamber element (80) comprising a first inlet port (800) connectable to a first reservoir container (2) for allowing a flow from the first reservoir container (2) into the first chamber element (80) and a first outlet port (801) for allowing a flow out of the first chamber element (80), and the second chamber element (81) comprising a second inlet port (810) for allowing a flow into the second chamber element (81) and a second outlet port (811) connectable to a second reservoir container (3) for allowing a flow out of the second chamber element (81) towards the second reservoir container (3). The blood processing apparatus furthermore comprises a first pump mechanism (600) for pumping a blood fluid in a flow direction (F1) from the first reservoir container (2) towards the blood processing apparatus (1), and a second pump mechanism (610) for pumping a blood fluid in a flow direction (F2) from the blood processing apparatus (1) towards the second reservoir container (2). Herein, the first pump mechanism (600) is located upstream of the first inlet port (800) of the first chamber element (80) and the second pump mechanism (610) is located upstream of the second inlet port (810) of the second chamber element (81). In this way a blood processing apparatus comprising a measurement device is provided which in an easy and reliable manner allows for a measurement of in particular a haematocrit value in the incoming blood flow as well as the outgoing blood flow.
