Magnetic sensors and related systems and methods
This invention relates generally to magnetic sensors and related systems and methods. In some aspects of the invention, a magnetic sensor assembly includes a housing configured to releasably hold a medical fluid tube and a sensor secured to the housing, the sensor configured to detect a change in a strength of a magnetic field when a medical fluid passes through the medical fluid tube.
CENTRIFUGAL FLUID SEPARATION DEVICE
A modular cassette and method for separating a composite fluid into at least two component parts thereof during centrifugation is provided. The modular cassette includes a fluid inlet portion, at least one fluid separation portion, at least one media chamber in fluid communication with the fluid separation portion, a fluid collection portion, at least one fluidic channel configured to form a fluid communication between at least two components of the cassette, at least one wax valve including undulating flow channel portions configured to close at least one of the fluidic channels, and at least one heating element configured to actuate the at least one wax valve.
Reception means for receiving medical fluids, as well as external functional means and medical treatment apparatus
The present invention relates to a reception means for receiving fluids, which comprises a fluid surge redirection element comprising at least one flow-conditioning body that is adapted and intended to divide the fluid surge of the inflowing fluid into at least two partial fluid surges. It further relates to an external functional means as well as a treatment apparatus comprising a reception means in accordance with the invention.
Balancing unit, external medical functional unit, treatment apparatus and methods
A balancing unit for medical fluids includes at least one balancing chamber and at least one conveying unit for filling the balancing chamber, in which the conveying unit is a pressure controlled conveying unit and/or is designed and provided for being operated in at least one operating state as a constant-pressure source. An external medical functional unit, a treatment apparatus and methods are also described.
EXTERNAL FUNCTIONAL MEANS, BLOOD TREATMENT APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING AN EXTERNAL FUNCTIONAL MEANS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, AND METHOD
An external functional means comprises at least one housing body, at least one chamber integrated into the housing body for receiving medical fluids, at least one passage integrated into the housing body for receiving and/or conducting a medical fluid, and at least one valve means completely or partly integrated into the housing body for controlling or regulating a fluid flowing through the external functional means. The invention further specifies a blood treatment apparatus and methods which may be carried out by means of the external functional means of the invention and by means of the blood treatment apparatus, respectively.
Valve arrangement for use in an extracorporeal blood circuit and method
The present invention relates to a valve arrangement for use in an extracorporeal blood circuit having at least one arterial blood line and at least one venous blood line, the valve arrangement having at least one first valve arranged in the arterial blood line, a second valve arranged in the venous blood line, a fourth valve arranged in a first arteriovenous connection line between the arterial blood line of the circuit and the venous blood line of the circuit, and a fifth valve arranged in a second arteriovenous connection line between the arterial blood line and the venous blood line; and/or a third valve arranged for establishing a fluid connection in a blood line between the arterial blood line and the venous blood line of the circuit; and/or a sixth valve arranged between a blood treatment device and an air venting device of the circuit.
SIEVE-LIKE FILTER UNIT FOR CARTRIDGE-SHAPED RECEPTACLE
A sieve-like filter unit, especially for a cartridge-shaped receptacle, which is arranged on a connecting port/connector of the receptacle and is designed to withhold undissolved powder and/or solid particles present in the receptacle, comprising at least two openings each being composed of at least two connected part recesses, wherein each individual opening in its entirety is formed to be extending in a non-linear manner.
Device including a device for determining a characteristic of the device
The present disclosure relates to a medical device with respectively at least one hard part with fluid paths for guiding a medical fluid, for example, blood, through the hard part. The medical device also includes a converter and a device for determining a characteristic of the device. The converter is arranged to measure the characteristic of the fluid, while the fluid is present in one of the fluid paths. The characteristic may be geometric characteristic, for example, a fluid path.
Medical device loading systems, devices, and methods
A cartridge insertion system includes a chassis supporting a fluid circuit, the chassis having a forward end with key pins projecting from the forward end and a rear end. The system also includes a medical treatment device with a slot opening closed by doors having a major dimension and having key openings spaced apart a same distance as the key pins on the chassis, such that when the chassis is pushed toward the slot opening, the key pins enter the key openings before the forward end meets the doors. The key pins push against latches that hold the door locked shut, so that the doors will not open if a cartridge without key pins is pressed against the door. When a cartridge with key pins is used, the doors unlock and allow the cartridge to be inserted.
Blood bag system and cassette
A blood bag system includes a BC pooling bag for centrifugation of a buffy coat, a filter for removing white blood cells from a supernatant liquid transferred from the BC pooling bag, a platelet preserving bag for reserving the supernatant liquid that has passed through the filter, a first tube connecting the BC pooling bag and an inlet of the filter, a second tube connecting the platelet preserving bag and an outlet of the filter, and a cassette to be fixed in the centrifugation and separation apparatus. The first tube and the second tube are disposed within the cassette. The cassette includes a first clamp section for closing and opening the first tube, and a second clamp section for closing and opening the second tube.
