BLOOD CHAMBER LID HAVING INTEGRATED BLOOD FILTER AND VENT
A lid for closing an open ended blood chamber is provided. The lid is a one piece device forming an inlet to the blood chamber. The one piece device includes a filter media spaced apart from the inlet and wherein blood passing through the inlet passes through the filter media upon entry into the blood chamber. The filter media filters gross particulate from the blood passing therethrough. The one piece device further includes a vent port with an associated vent port cover to allow air separated to vent from the blood chamber.
Cassette having an integrated filter and bypass
A fluid processing system for controlling fluid flow comprising a cassette comprising defined passageways within a first portion of the cassette and a filter receptacle within a second portion of the cassette, an inlet port in communication with one or more of the defined passageways and an inlet side of the filter receptacle, an outlet port in communication with an outlet side of the filter receptacle, and a filter medium disposed within the filter receptacle between the inlet port and outlet port.
Systems and methods for therapeutic platelet depletion
Systems and methods are provided for depleting platelets from blood. The system includes a multi-stage blood separation chamber in which blood is separated into red blood cells and platelet-rich plasma. The platelet-rich plasma is conveyed from a first stage of the chamber to a second stage, where it is separated into platelets and platelet-poor plasma. The platelet-poor plasma is conveyed out of the chamber while the platelets are allowed to accumulate in the second stage of the chamber. When a controller of the system has determined that the maximum chamber capacity of platelets has been accumulated in the second stage of the chamber, the platelets are conveyed out of the chamber to a waste container. The cycle of separating blood into its components, accumulating platelets in the chamber, and then flushing the platelets from the chamber is repeated until a target platelet concentration of the blood is achieved.
Blood treatment filter
A blood treatment filter comprising a filter element, an inlet-side flexible container and an outlet-side flexible container, an inlet port, and a tubular outlet port, further comprises: an outlet-side frame sheet disposed between the filter element and the outlet-side flexible container; a first seal portion provided by sealing at least the filter element and the outlet-side frame sheet in a belt-shaped manner; and an annular second seal portion provided to surround the first seal portion, wherein on an outlet side of the filter element, a valley portion is formed at the first seal portion, the outlet port includes a protruding portion that protrudes to an inside of the container, and the protruding portion is provided with an opening at least a part of which overlaps with the first seal portion and which can communicate with a gap region formed by the valley portion.
Device for Cross Flow Filtration
A whole blood filtration device is provided with a filter membrane separating a feeding volume and a clean side of the filter membrane from each other. The feeding volume communicates with a first feeding side opening and with a second feeding side opening. The filter membrane has pores with a pore size that ensures permeability of the filter membrane to blood plasma/serum and that retains blood cells. The first feeding side opening can be coupled to a first blood pump for feeding blood from the first feeding side opening into the feeding volume so that blood plasma/serum permeates the filter membrane and blood cells, retained by the filter membrane, exit from the feeding volume through the second feeding side opening.
FILTRATION DEVICE
A filtration device that includes: a filtration filter having a first main surface that captures a filtration target object contained in a liquid and a second main surface that faces the first main surface; and a housing that holds the filtration filter, and defines a liquid inflow path that faces the first main surface and a liquid discharge path that faces the second main surface, the housing including a tubular portion that extends in a direction away from the second main surface of the filtration filter and defines the liquid discharge path, and a flange portion that extends from an outer peripheral surface of the tubular portion, and the flange portion includes a vent hole extending away from the outer peripheral surface of the tubular portion.
Method and apparatus for treating a carotid artery
One disclosed embodiment comprises a method for treating lesions in the carotid artery of a mammalian body. The method comprises transcervical access and blocking of blood flow through the common carotid artery (with or without blocking of blood flow through the external carotid artery), shunting blood from the internal carotid artery and treating the lesion in the carotid artery.
DEVICE AND PROCEDURE FOR PRODUCING A CELLULAR PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT ENRICHED IN TARGET CELLS AT THE BEDSIDE OR IN A SURGICAL ROOM
The invention relates to a system, comprising: a) a sample processing unit, comprising an input port and an output port coupled to a rotating container having at least one sample chamber, the sample processing unit configured provide a first processing step to a sample or to rotate the container so as to apply a centrifugal force to a sample deposited in the chamber and separate at least a first component and a second component of the deposited sample; and b) a sample separation unit coupled to the output port of the sample processing unit, the cell separation unit comprising separation column holder (42), a pump (64) and a plurality of valves (1-11) configured to at least partially control fluid flow through a fluid circuitry and a separation column (40) positioned in the holder, the separation column configured to separate labeled and unlabeled components of sample flowed through the column.
