VASCULAR ACCESS IMPLANT AND ACCESS IMPLANT SYSTEM
A vascular access implant and system for connecting an intracorporeal blood circulation to an extracorporeal blood circulation includes an arterial fluid line for connection to a patient's artery and a venous fluid line for connection to a patient's vein. A controllable artery-vein-connection between the arterial fluid line and venous fluid line controls fluid flow between the arterial fluid line and venous fluid line. An arterial port is in fixed fluid connection with the arterial fluid line for coupling to and decoupling from a first hose of the extracorporeal blood circulation. A venous port is in fixed fluid connection with the venous fluid line for coupling to and decoupling from a second hose of the extracorporeal blood circulation.

The invention relates to a device and a method for connecting a vial [1] to a container or to a fluid line and transferring the contents of a vial [1] to a container or to a fluid line, wherein the device has a first holder [4] which is suitable for accommodating a connecting device [8], a second holder [5] which is suitable for accommodating a vial [1], an actuating means [7] and a connecting device [8] which consists of an annular housing [13], an inside part [12] having at least one puncture device [14] and a tube connection [16], wherein the annular housing [13] of the connecting device [8] can be constructed to be rotatable about the inside part [12] in the function of a valve, so that by rotation of the housing [13] the flow paths of the connecting device [8] can be opened and closed.
SELF-SEALING TUBULAR GRAFTS, PATCHES, AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING THEM
A self-sealing tubular graft is provided for implantation within a patient's body that includes an elongate tubular body including first and second self-sealing cannulation regions and a loop region extending between the first and second cannulation regions. The loop region includes one or more reinforcement members attached to a first length of the loop region and extending at least partially around a circumference of the tubular body. For example, the reinforcement members may include one or more sinusoidal or zigzag members extending along the first length with alternating peaks and valleys extending at least partially around a circumference of the tubular body. Self-sealing patches are also provided that include one or more reinforcement members embedded within base material.
Methods and systems for establishing retrograde carotid arterial blood flow
Interventional procedures on the carotid arteries are performed through a transcervical access while retrograde blood flow is established from the internal carotid artery to a venous or external location. A system for use in accessing and treating a carotid artery includes an arterial access device, a shunt fluidly connected to the arterial access device, and a flow control assembly coupled to the shunt and adapted to regulate blood flow through the shunt between at least a first blood flow state and at least a second blood flow state. The flow control assembly includes one or more components that interact with the blood flow through the shunt.
Arteriovenous access valve system and process
An arteriovenous graft system is described. The arteriovenous graft system includes an arteriovenous graft that is well suited for use during hemodialysis. In order to minimize or prevent arterial steal, at least one valve device is positioned at the arterial end of the arteriovenous graft. In one embodiment, for instance, the arteriovenous graft system includes a first valve device positioned at the arterial end and a second valve device positioned at the venous end. In one embodiment, the valve devices may include an inflatable balloon that, when inflated, constricts and closes off the arteriovenous graft. If desired, a single actuator can be used to open and close both valve devices.
Implantable flow connector
A system for coupling a first space within a body of a patient with a second space within the body of the patient including a flow connector insertable into the first and second spaces within the body and having a conduit having a wall forming a lumen therein and first and second orifices. A first retention member is engageable with a first portion of the first space within the body and has a first opening, and the flow connector is positioned within the first opening. A second retention member is engageable with the second space within the body, the second retention member has a second opening and the flow connector is positioned within the second opening. The second retention member interlocks with the first retention member.
Monitoring device and method for monitoring an extracorporeal blood treatment device
A device and method are used for monitoring an extracorporeal blood treatment device, such as a dialysis machine, which includes an extracorporeal blood circuit having an arterial blood line with an arterial patient port and/or at least one venous blood line with a venous patient port, and a dialysis fluid system which has a dialysis fluid supply line and a dialysis fluid drain line. The monitoring device selects and senses a measured value during operation of the extracorporeal blood treatment device which is suitable for monitoring the blood treatment device to compare a time-related actual course of the measured value with a target course of the measured value stored in a memory, and to determine that there is a defect if, at least in sections, the actual course of the measured value deviates from the target course by more than a defined tolerance.
Devices, systems, and methods for peripheral arteriovenous fistula creation
Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for the formation of an arteriovenous fistula in the limb of the patient. Embodiments include an apparatus for the creation, modification and maintenance of a fistula, including the modification of an existing dialysis fistula; and a method of supplying oxygenated blood to the venous circulation of a patient. A kit of anastomotic implants is described which supports a broad base of patient anatomies and fistula locations. The devices, systems and methods can be used to treat patients with one or more numerous ailments including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, hypotension, respiratory failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, lung fibrosis and adult respiratory distress syndrome.
Apparatus and method for the vibratory stimulation of at least one portion of a vascular access device for its monitoring
The present invention relates to an apparatus for monitoring a vascular access device, including at least one signal generator for generating vibrations in order to stimulate the vascular access device or a portion thereof to vibrate, at least one signal receiver for detecting vibrations of the vascular access device or of said portion thereof, and at least one evaluation device for evaluating the detected vibrations. Moreover a method for monitoring the vascular access device by using the apparatus of the invention is specified.
ARTERIOVENOUS GRAFT SYSTEM, ARTERIOVENOUS VALVE DEVICE AND METHOD TO IMPLANT AN ARTERIOVENOUS GRAFT SYSTEM
A subcutaneous arteriovenous graft system includes an arteriovenous graft having an arterial end, a venous end opposite to the arterial end and an internal volume between the arterial end and the venous end, and a valve device that can be arranged in an open state, in which fluid flow through the graft is possible and a closed state in which the fluid flow through the arteriovenous graft is blocked. The valve device is constructed to decrease, in the closed state of the valve device, the internal volume of the complete graft to substantially zero.
