A system including the device for transferring a fluid from a surgical site is also provided.
Ear visualization and treatment system
A device for visualizing and providing suction for a surgical procedure in an ear may include a handle, a main shaft extending from the handle, an imaging sensor at a distal end of the main shaft, a light source at the distal end of the main shaft, and a suction shaft extending from the handle. The device may also include a spring coupled with the suction shaft and/or the handle, such that when the suction shaft is advanced in a distal direction and then released, the suction shaft retracts automatically. The suction shaft may have a distal curved portion, and the device may have a thumb depress portion that allows a user to spin the suction shaft to suction in different directions. Some embodiments may include a suction shaft with a sharp distal tip that is configured for placing an ear tube in the tympanic membrane.
INTUBATION ASSIST DEVICE
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a suction stylet assembly for endotracheal intubation. The assembly includes an elongated tubular member, the elongated tubular member having one or more apertures proximate to a first end, and a handle in communication with a second end of the elongated tubular member. The handle member includes a first passageway connecting the elongated tubular member to a hose fitting on the handle member, the hose fitting configured to receive a hose that provides suction in removing bodily fluids. The handle member further includes an aperture located on a side of the handle member, the aperture forming a second passageway through the handle member running between the side and the first passageway, the aperture configured to permit a user to selectively block the aperture, thereby selectively controlling suction provided between the hose fitting and the elongated tubular member.
Combination suction and irrigation tool
An irrigation fluid dispensing tool well suited for use in a combination suction and irrigation tool has a frame carrying a surge flow pump formed of a flow controller of a manipulable handgrip of the tool handle, compressible irrigation fluid reservoir, and frame where the flow controller preferably is formed of a handle lever of the handgrip that is displaceable, preferably pivotable, between one or more of a surge flow actuation position, flow obstructing actuation position, and flow initiating position. The lever actuates a valve, preferably a pinch valve, when displaced toward the flow obstructing actuation position. The lever actuates the surge pump by compressing the reservoir, preferably squeeze bulb, against the frame when the handgrip is squeezed. The lever can be assembled to the frame in a protective shipping and storage position and is movable to a tool operating position providing irrigation fluid flow control during tool operation.
Medical device and its construction
A tube can include an elongated cannulated member that has an external wall. The tube can be navigated during a selected procedure. The tube can be shaped to selected configurations. The tube can include a liner bonded to an internal wall. The liner can be formed to inhibit debris from the cannulated member from exiting the cannulated member.
Suction and irrigation apparatus with anti-clogging capability
A handheld tool for providing irrigation and/or suction is provided. In certain embodiments, the tool has a single cannula for providing both suction and irrigation, while in others there are separate suction and irrigation cannulas. In some embodiments, flush water is supplied by actuating a flush button which both pinches closed a suction hose and opens a flush hose. If present, the irrigation cannula may be opened by actuating an irrigation button. In certain embodiments, the irrigation and/or flush button may be provided with blade tips to pinch closed the irrigation or flush hoses in cooperation with a blade extending from the tool housing.
FLOW CONTROL SYSTEM
A flow control system may include an inner nosecone having an inner nosecone distal end and an inner nosecone proximal end, an outer nosecone having an outer nosecone distal end and an outer nosecone proximal end, an aperture of the outer nosecone, a gasket having a gasket distal end and a gasket proximal end, a gasket aperture of the gasket, a gasket seal of the gasket, a flow control mechanism having a flow control mechanism distal end and a flow control mechanism proximal end, and a control aperture of the flow control mechanism. A rotation of the flow control mechanism about the gasket may be configured to decrease an aspiration flow rate. A rotation of the flow control mechanism about the gasket may be configured to increase an aspiration flow rate.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THERAPEUTIC USE OF ULTRA-VIOLET LIGHT
In one aspect, the present invention relates to a wound care system. The wound care system includes a power unit and a processor coupled to the power unit. An ultra-violet light-emitting diode array is electrically coupled to the processor. A thermoelectric element is thermally exposed to the ultra-violet light-emitting diode array. A probe is optically coupled to the ultra-violet light-emitting diode array. The thermoelectric element cools the ultra-violet light emitting diode array thereby optimizing the ultra-violet light emitting diode array.
Tracked Suction Tool
A device and method is provided for a trackable suction tool for surgical use. The tracked suction tool includes a tubular handle with a main tube and an entrance tube extending from the main tube, a flattened section of the main tube with a suction-regulating orifice, a tip connected to the main tube distal end and a tracking mechanism connected to a handle proximal end. A method is provided for tracking the position of a tracked suction device including attaching a tip to a handle in one of a plurality of fixed positions, attaching a tracking mechanism to the handle in one of a plurality of fixed positions, calibrating the position of the tip with a positional tracking system using the tracking mechanism, positioning the tracking markers in view of the positional tracking system and tracking a position of the distal end of the tip of the suction device.
Hand held irrigation and suction tool
An irrigation tool that includes a handle configured for grasping by a hand of a user of the tool having a handgrip displaceable using the hand in a manner that selectively controls the rate of flow of irrigation fluid discharged from the tool. The handgrip includes a compressible chamber mounted to the handle via at least one fluid coupling with the chamber compressible by manually squeezing the handgrip to discharge irrigation fluid.
