ARRANGEMENTS AND METHODS FOR AVOIDING SPREADING OF INFECTIOUS AGENTS AND IMPROVING ELECTRIC SAFETY AND SUCTION PERFORMANCE OF A MEDICAL ASPIRATOR
Vacuum pump (18) for a medical aspirator (10), the pump (18) comprising a tubular member (20); a piston (22) slidably arranged within the tubular member (20); a piston rod (24) connected to the piston (22); and a coupling mechanism (36) for detachably and functionally connecting the piston rod (24) to a motor (38) for driving the pump (18), wherein the piston rod (24) is configured to reciprocate linearly during operation of the pump (18).
Flushing and aspirating device
A flushing and aspirating device includes a device housing with an aspirating channel, a flushing channel, a flushing and aspirating channel and a valve chamber in which the channels empty or emerge therefrom, respectively. A manually operable valve push button is movably guided in the valve chamber against the force of a reset spring and which has at least one sealing section for controlling the connection of the flushing and aspirating channel to the aspirating channel and/or the flushing channel. The valve push button including the at least one sealing section is formed as a single piece of an elastic rubber material, such as silicone.
ASPIRATION SCOPE UNCLOGGING MECHANISM
Systems are described, including a system that includes an insertion device with a shaft and a distribution adapter with a housing and a piston. The shaft includes irrigation and aspiration channels providing a fluid circulation through a target area of a body within which the shaft is inserted. The housing includes first and second pairs of diametrically opposed ports. A first port of the first pair is connected to an irrigation port and a second port of the first pair is connected to the irrigation channel. A first port of the second pair is connected to an aspiration port coupled to a negative pressure source and a second port of the second pair is connected to the aspiration channel. The piston is slidably received within a cavity of the housing to be movable between default and reverse configurations.
Modular surgical fluid control system and related methods
A fluid flow controller includes a first body portion defining a receiving surface, a second body portion, and a fluid transfer device. The second body portion includes a controller engagement member, and is configured to couple to the first body portion such that the controller engagement member faces and is spaced from an engagement point of the receiving surface. The controller engagement member is configured to be adjusted from a first distance to a second distance closer to the engagement point than the first distance based on a force applied by a foot pedal apparatus. The fluid transfer device defines a flow channel configured to be adjusted from defining a first cross sectional area to a second, lesser cross sectional area while the controller engagement member is in contact with the first fluid transfer device and adjusted towards the second distance in response to the applied force.
Disposable dental valve device having a check valve
A disposable dental valve device is disclosed having a valve body having a tip receiving end, a hose receiving end, a lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, a partial opening formed in the valve body, and a rotatable valve sealing body adapted to being inserted into the partial opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having a bore for alignment with the lumen formed between the tip receiving end and the hose receiving end, the bore having a tip receiving opening and a hose receiving opening, the rotatable valve sealing body having a check valve positioned on the tip receiving opening, and the rotatable valve sealing body having a top and a handle portion connected to the top.
Medical suction and irrigation device handpiece
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a medical device with a handpiece that provides enhanced comfort of use, maneuverability, and for a variety of hand-held options to the user. Embodiments of the invention include handpieces that include a grip panel comprised of a friction-enhancing material to facilitate gripping of the handpiece by an operator. In addition, embodiments of the invention include handpieces having a generally symmetrical configuration in order to facilitate grasping by an operator's left or right hand.
Apparatus including a conduit clamping device
An apparatus comprising a conduit clamping device with a closing mechanism for closing and opening passage of fluid or air in a flexible conduit is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a movable arm or disk that is connected to a manipulation arm or a knob; a conduit in form of a tube, that is laid flat against an abutment or protrusion; and a guide structure that constrains the movable arm or disk between the guide structure and the tube and being designed such that movement of the arm or disk will control the compression of the tube.
Pistol grip suction device
A pistol grip suction device comprises a hollow body member having first leg joining second leg at elbow, the legs being generally tubular and disposed approximately 90 degrees apart; a push rod extending through push rod aperture at elbow, the push rod extending into hollow second leg, the push rod having a button on proximal end outside the body, and valve on distal end inside the body; a valve seat disposed within second leg around push rod; valve mounted on the push rod through the valve seat, the suction port having a diameter at least two times the diameter of push rod through suction port; a spring biasing push rod into extended position with respect to second leg such that valve bears against valve seat and closes suction port, wherein a force against button greater than biasing force of spring displaces valve from valve seat and opens suction port.
CLOSED SUCTION SYSTEM
A cleaning catheter insertable into a ventilation tube and an input module are provided, the input module coupled to the cleaning catheter and including (i) an inflation module, including an inflation chamber and a one-way air inlet valve; (ii) a flow regulator, configured to assume first and second fluid-control states; and (iii) a mechanical user control element, which is configured (a) to mechanically and non-electrically set the fluid-control states, (b) to assume first and second configurations, and (c) to mechanically and non-electrically increase pressure in an interior of an inflation chamber of the cleaning catheter during a transition of the mechanical user control element from the first configuration to the second configuration. The one-way air inlet valve is arranged to allow air to flow into the inflation chamber during a transition of the mechanical user control element from the second configuration to the first configuration.
SYSTEM FOR CLEARING SURGICAL CHEST DRAINAGE TUBE BLOCKAGES
This device is used to clear clots and blockages from chest drainage tubes. This invention relates to patient safety after open-heart surgical procedures, wherein postoperative drainage from the surgical site is a critical component of care. Blocked drainage tubes can cause dangerous retained blood complications, most notably, cardiac tamponade, which essentially smothers the heart.
