The present invention pertains to a device for securing a medical implement to the body of a patient. The device preferably comprises a base having a locking device and an articulation strap connected to a cover. The cover further comprises a gear rack, where the gear rack is insertable into the locking device. The base further comprises a top surface with an adhesive film and release paper and a bottom surface attached to a patient attachment member. The base also has a cutout section. The base is preferably sloped at an angle between five and ten degrees. The cover preferably has at least two living hinges and the articulation strap has at least two living hinges. The locking device further comprises a sliding surface.

MEDICAL DRESSING REMOVABLE ADHESIVE STRIPS

Medical dressings are provided that minimize the disruptive forces directed at the device-skin interface during the processes of dressing changes. The instantaneous disruptive force, imparted to a healing skin wound by an adhesive dressing as it is being de-adhesed from the vicinity of the skin wound, is determined, in part, by the yield strength (force/unit area) of the adhesive/skin interface and, in part, by that portion of surface area (area) of skin-dressing adhesion participating in traction of the skin at said instant. A method to minimize the disruptive force of a medical dressing is to reduce the surface area of skin-dressing adhesion being de-adhesed at a specific instant by dividing the total surface area of skin-dressing into substantially smaller subareas, each of which, when being de-adhesed, would impart disruptive forces to the healing skin wound which are smaller than the tensile strength of the skin wound.

DOSING SYSTEMS AND APPROACHES

A drug delivery system includes a delivery container, a first drug insertion port, at least one additional drug insertion port, and an IV connection port. The delivery container includes upper, lower, first side, and second side portions, and further includes a tapered region extending between the first side portion and the second side portion. The first drug insertion port is positioned at the lower portion of the delivery container and has a first coupling mechanism. The at least one additional drug insertion port is also positioned at the lower portion of the delivery container, but includes a second coupling mechanism that is different than the first coupling mechanism. The IV connection port is positioned at the lower portion of the delivery container adjacent to a lower portion of the tapered region.

The retaining device is made of suitable material formed in a frame having a central portion and two opposing arms spaced apart from the frame and in the plane thereof. The central portion being arranged so as to cause a conduit inserted through the cord slots between the central portion and the opposing arms to be urged substantially equally against the opposing arms. Each opposing arm provides a tapered gripping edge directed toward the central portion, wherein each gripping edges provides a plurality of serrations for further engaging the urged conduit.

A disposable noninvasive strap is disclosed for use in securing a medical appliance such as an I.V. line, gauze pad, or the like, to a patient. The disposable strap is removably secured to the patient, and in a particular embodiment, may be applied to a patient's torso or a limb, such as a wrist, arm or leg, and holds the medical appliance without undesirable movement. An exemplary strap comprises a layer of soft, porous, elastomeric material and particularly, is prepared from a spun bond laminate of polypropylene. In a further exemplary embodiment, the strap may applied to the site of a venipuncture after the withdrawal of the needle, to hold in place a cotton or gauze pad or the like, that is applied to the site to absorb and curtail the flow of any blood or other fluid from the same.

An intravenous line organizing system to be attached to patients to organize one or several IV lines, preventing entanglement and contamination by dragging on the floor, while allowing patient mobility. The hypoallergenic device can be strapped with a band around a patient's limb or torso, or adhered to the skin anywhere on the body. Each clip element allows one IV line to float freely through it. Each clip element rotates 360 and can move horizontally within a channel in the system, or it can be pushed into a locked position, preventing rotation and horizontal movement.

Stabilizing Device Having A Snap Clamp

A retainer includes a first arcuate wall and a second arcuate wall that together define a channel designed to receive a medical article. The retainer has an open configuration wherein a first end of the first arcuate wall is spaced away from a first end of the second arcuate wall, and a closed configuration wherein the first end of the first arcuate wall is adjacent the first end of the second arcuate wall. A second end of the first arcuate wall opposite the first end of the arcuate wall may be spaced away from the base in the open configuration and pressed against the base in the closed configuration. The retainer also may include a first support and a second support fixed to the base, and a first and second flexible coupling connecting the first and second supports to the first and second arcuate walls.
