CATHETER PUMP ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A STATOR
A catheter pump assembly is provided that includes a proximal a distal portion, a catheter body, an impeller, and a flow modifying structure. The catheter body has a lumen that extends along a longitudinal axis between the proximal and distal portions. The impeller is disposed at the distal portion. The impeller includes a blade with a trailing edge. The flow modifying structure is disposed downstream of the impeller. The flow modifying structure has a plurality of blades having a leading edge substantially parallel to and in close proximity to the trailing edge of the blade of the impeller and an expanse extending downstream from the leading edge. In some embodiments, the expanse has a first region with higher curvature and a second region with lower curvature. The first region is between the leading edge and the second region.
UNILATERAL-DRIVEN DRUG INFUSION DEVICE
A unilateral-driven drug infusion device includes a drug storage unit, a screw, at least one driving unit, a power unit, a reset unit and an infusion tube. The drug storage unit includes a drug outlet. The screw is connected to a piston and a driving wheel provided with wheel teeth, respectively, wherein the driving wheel drives the screw to move by rotation, and push the piston provided in the drug storage unit to move forward. The driving unit cooperates with the driving wheel, wherein the driving unit includes at least one driving portion. The power unit and the reset unit are connected to the driving unit. The infusion tube includes a connection end and a subcutaneous end, and the connection end is communicated with the drug outlet and the subcutaneous end.
DOUBLE-ACTING, TELESCOPING SCREW-DRIVEN PUMP MECHANISM DISPOSED EXTERNALLY TO RESERVOIR IN FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE
A fluid delivery device has a syringe barrel-type reservoir with plunger, and plunger driver assembly comprising double-acting, telescoping lead screws that is located behind and outside of the barrel. Simultaneously and counter-rotating sleeve screw and center screw telescope out of a nested configuration of the plunger driver assembly and into the reservoir at a rate of double their individual and equal pitch and lead parameters when the sleeve screw is rotated. A threaded nut and gear anchor disposed on an end of the barrel receive the sleeve screw and the threaded nut causes the sleeve screw to translate and rotate in response to motor operation. A distal end of the center screw can be keyed to a plunger pusher for anti-rotation constraint when the motor is imparting rotation on the threaded nut and sleeve screw.
Detecting unintentional motor motion and infusion device incorporating same
Apparatus are provided for infusion devices and related systems and operating methods. An exemplary system includes a motor, a sensing arrangement coupled to the motor to provide output indicative of a detected characteristic of the motor when the sensing arrangement is enabled, and a module coupled to the sensing arrangement to periodically enable the sensing arrangement while the motor is idle and detect potential unintended motion of the motor based on the output from the sensing arrangement while periodically enabling the sensing arrangement. In some embodiments, the motor includes a rotor configured such that its rotation provides translational displacement of a plunger in a fluid reservoir, and the sensing arrangement includes one or more sensors configured to provide output indicative of a detected magnetic field of the rotor magnet.
