Drug delivery systems and methods with pressure sensitive control

Systems and methods for drug delivery with pressure sensitive control are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a reservoir filled or fillable with a drug, a drug delivery device coupled to the reservoir to deliver the drug from the reservoir to a patient, a pressure sensor, an output device, and a controller. The controller may be configured to determine if the drug delivery device has completed delivering a dose of the drug to the patient, and if delivery of the dose of the drug is complete, to measure tissue back pressure using the pressure sensor. Subsequently, the controller may be configured to determine if the tissue back pressure is below a first predetermined value, and if so, control the output device at least once and/or control a mechanism to retract an administration member from the patient.

Disclosed herein are techniques related to medicine administration in dynamic networks. The techniques may involve identifying an amount of medicine for delivery to a patient and determining a communication path toward a first medicine administration device of a plurality of medicine administration devices in a mesh network. The plurality of medicine administration devices may further include a second medicine administration device that is prioritized over the first medicine administration device for delivering medicine to the patient. The techniques may further involve causing delivery of the amount of medicine to the patient by the first medicine administration device based on communicating the amount of medicine toward the first medicine administration device via the communication path when the amount of medicine remains undelivered by the second medicine administration device.

A drug delivery device is provided that includes a housing, a fluid displacement assembly at least partially supported by and/or surrounded by the housing, and a drive component at least partially supported by and/or surrounded by the housing. The fluid displacement assembly includes a ring tube portion. The drive component includes an eccentric component having a contact surface configured to directly or indirectly apply a compression force to a compression patch of the ring tube portion such that when the eccentric component rotates about an axis, the contact surface moves along generally circular path and drives the medicament through the fluid displacement assembly. The compression force between the contact surface and the ring tube portion is preferably substantially constant throughout a complete revolution about the axis by the eccentric component.
