Anti-C5 antibody dispensing injector and method of injection

An injector includes an injector housing, an activation button assembly movably mounted to the injector housing and operatively connected to the injection needle, and a cartridge door movably mounted to the injector housing between an open position and a closed position. A deflectable interference member engaging the rear end flange of the cartridge has a resting position configured to limit an insertion depth of a cartridge into an interior channel of the cartridge door to a sealed position, wherein the cartridge piercing needle does not fully penetrate a pierceable septum of the cartridge. The cartridge door includes an interior channel having a cartridge mounted therein. The cartridge includes a substance to be dispensed. The substance includes an anti-C5 antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof, and optionally further includes a recombinant human hyaluronidase enzyme. A method of treating a complement associated condition using an injector thereof. A method of dispensing a substance from an injector thereof.

An apparatus, including a pump body having an internal shaft, and a piston disposed within the shaft and having a piston head that includes a first ferromagnetic element. The apparatus also includes a motor coupled to drive a reciprocal longitudinal motion of the piston within the shaft, and a pump chamber configured to be removably attached to the pump body and having a rigid wall defining a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and an aperture. The apparatus additionally includes a flexible diaphragm fixed across the aperture and having a second ferromagnetic element, which engages the first ferromagnetic element when the pump chamber is attached to the pump body so that the reciprocal longitudinal motion of the piston causes alternating stretching and contraction of the flexible diaphragm, thereby modifying a volume of the pump chamber.

DEVICE FOR SUBCUTANEOUS DELIVERY OF FLUID MEDICAMENT

An improved device delivers a fluid medicament to the subcutaneous tissue of a user. The device is better suited for patients with Parkinson's Disease and other central nervous system disorders, than conventional infusion devices. The device can include a reusable part including a drive component (e.g., motor) and control electronics and a disposable part including a medicament reservoir. Medicament can be evacuated from the medicament reservoir by a plunger assembly that includes a plunger attached to a lead screw that is rotated by a nut, all within the disposable part. The device can be fluidically coupled with the tissue via a flexible cannula. Various embodiments relate to an improved cannula insertion mechanism that delivers the cannula under a force applied by a spring. Various embodiments relate to improved filling of the device, for example, using a vial adapter and an automated filling station.

A fluid delivery system includes a control interface and multiple unique loading guides. The control interface of the fluid delivery system receives a fluid pump assembly. The multiple loading guides are retractable from the fluid delivery system to retain and control movement of a facing of the fluid pump assembly to contact the control interface on the facing of the fluid delivery system. In one configuration, the control interface is disposed in a cavity of the fluid delivery system; the multiple loading guides are disposed at locations in proximity to the cavity. The multiple loading guides slidably retract in unison to support substantially orthogonal insertion of the fluid pump assembly into the cavity of the fluid delivery system.

Ambulatory medicament pump with safe access control

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for managing access to therapy controls of an ambulatory medicament pump that provides therapy to a subject using safe access levels associated with the therapy controls. The therapy change controls may enable modification of the corresponding therapy control parameters. The disclosed systems and methods can determine the eligibility of a subject receiving therapy from the ambulatory medicament pump or a user of the ambulatory medicament pump, for a safe access level and provide access to the corresponding therapy change controls. The ambulatory medicament pump may provide access to the therapy change controls upon receiving an access signal. In some cases, the ambulatory medicament pump may receive a time-based passcode and provide access to the therapy change controls upon receiving a matching passcode from the user.

DRUG DELIVERY METHODS AND SYSTEMS

A two-part bioactive agent delivery system, the system including a disposable part comprising an agent reservoir, a bolus chamber, the volume of the bolus chamber being less than the volume of the agent reservoir, an agent outlet, and a valve having a first position communicating the agent reservoir with the bolus chamber and a second position communicating the bolus chamber with the outlet; and a reusable part including a valve driver, a power source and control electronics, the control electronics being adapted to control the valve driver to actuate the valve to deliver bioactive agent from the agent reservoir to the agent outlet; the system further having a spring extending between the agent reservoir piston and a surface of the reusable part or of the disposable part to pressurize the agent reservoir when the spring is compressed and the agent reservoir contains a quantity of bioactive agent.
