Thixomolding material

Provided is a thixomolding material including a metal body that contains Mg as a main component, and a coating portion that is adhered to a surface of the metal body via a binder and contains C particles containing C as a main component. A mass fraction of the C particles in a total mass of the metal body and the C particles is 5.0 mass % or more and 40.0 mass % or less. The binder may contain waxes. The C particles may be graphite particles.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a clad steel sheet. The method includes: preparing a base material including C: 0.3 to 1.0%, Mn: 4.0 to 16.0%, Al: 4.5 to 9.0%, and a remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities; preparing a cladding material including C: 0.1 to 0.45%, Mn: 0.1 to 3.0%, and a remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities; disposing the base material between two of the cladding material to obtain a laminate; welding an edge of the laminate; heating the welded laminate between 1050 and 1350 C.; finish-rolling the heated laminate between 750 and 1050 C. with a rolling reduction ratio of 30% or more in a first pass; coiling the hot-rolled steel sheet between 400 and 700 C.; pickling the coiled hot-rolled steel sheet, and applying a cold-reduction ratio of 35 to 90%; and annealing the cold-rolled steel sheet between 550 C. and A3+200 C. of the cladding material.

Hot stamped steel

A hot stamped steel includes a base material that is formed of steel, a plated layer that is formed on a surface of the base material, and a phosphate coating that is formed on a surface of the plated layer; chemical composition of the plated layer contains 20.00 to 45.00 mass % of Al, 10.00 to 45.00 mass % of Fe, 4.50 to 15.00 mass % of Mg, 0.10 to 3.00 mass % of Si, 0.05 to 3.00 mass % of Ca, and the plated layer may further contain one or more of Sb, Pb, Cu, Sn, Ti, Sr, Cr, Ni, and Mn with a remainder of Zn and impurities; the phosphate coating comprises zinc phosphate crystals containing 5.0 to 50.0 mass % of Mg and 0.5 to 5.0 mass % of Ca; and the adhesion amount of the phosphate coating per one surface is in a range of 0.1 to 10.0 g/m.sup.2.

Thixomolding material

A thixomolding material includes: a metal body that contains Mg as a main component; and a coating portion that is adhered to a surface of the metal body via a binder and contains SiC particles containing SiC as a main component. A mass fraction of the SiC particles in a total mass of the metal body and the SiC particles is 2.0 mass % or more and 40.0 mass % or less. The binder may contain waxes. A content of the binder may be 0.001 mass % or more and 0.200 mass % or less.

Coated metallic substrate

A coated metallic substrate including at least a first coating consisting of aluminum is provided. The first coating has a thickness between 1.0 and 4.5 m and is directly topped by a second coating based on zinc, such second coating having a thickness between 1.5 and 9.0 m. The thickness ratio of the first coating with respect to the second coating is between 0.2 and 1.2.

There is also provided a material in a powder state formed from a plurality of particles having a ceramic outer layer and a metal core, the particles having an overall spherical shape.
