The thermal chemical vapor coated article includes a coating on the thermal chemical vapor coated article, the coating formed by thermal decomposition, oxidation, then functionalization. The thermal chemical vapor coated article is industrial equipment requiring resistance to protein adsorption. The coating is resistant to the protein adsorption and is on a substrate heated during the thermal decomposition.

Castings and Manufacture Methods

A method includes casting a metallic material (56) in a mold (20) containing a core, the core having a substrate (40, 44) coated with a coating (42). A removing of the metallic material from the mold and decoring leaves a casting having a layer formed by the coating. The coating has a ceramic having a porosity in a zone (50) near the substrate less than a porosity in a zone (52) away from the substrate.

Thermal chemical vapor deposition coated article and process

A coated article is disclosed. The article includes a coating formed by thermal decomposition, oxidation then functionalization. The article is configured for a marine environment, the marine environment including fouling features. The coating is resistant to the fouling features. Additionally or alternatively, the article is a medical device configured for a protein-containing environment, the protein-containing environment including protein adsorption features. The coating is resistant to the protein adsorption features.

Two-dimensional material for removal of anions and applications thereof

A method for preparing an anion adsorbent may be provided, which comprises the steps of: mixing at least two metal salts with each other, thereby forming a stack structure in which cationic compound layers and anionic compound layers containing anions and water of crystallization are alternately stacked on one another; performing a first heat treatment on the stack structure to expand between the cationic compound layers, thereby preparing a preliminary anion adsorbent; and performing a second heat treatment on the preliminary anion adsorbent to remove the anions and the water of crystallization from the anionic compound layers while allowing at least one of the anions to remain, thereby preparing the anion adsorbent.

LABEL FOR WET APPLICATIONS

A label for a bottle where the label is comprised of a laminate where an outer layer (3) is a material susceptible to losing opaqueness when made wet, and an inner layer (5) behind this first layer which is a material that is opaque, and such that it will maintain such opaqueness when wet.

Glass packaging ensuring container integrity

A strengthened glass container or vessel such as, but not limited to, vials for holding pharmaceutical products or vaccines in a hermetic and/or sterile state. The strengthened glass container undergoes a strengthening process that produces compression at the surface and tension within the container wall. The strengthening process is designed such that the tension within the wall is great enough to ensure catastrophic failure of the container, thus rendering the product unusable, should sterility be compromised by a through-wall crack. The tension is greater than a threshold central tension, above which catastrophic failure of the container is guaranteed, thus eliminating any potential for violation of pharmaceutical integrity.

Fire insulation material
11066603 · 2021-07-20 ·

A fire insulation precursor material formed of cement, in an amount of between 10-30% w/w; and an aluminium or magnesium hydroxide, huntite or hydromagnesite in an amount of between 60-90% w/w. A fire insulation material is provided including the previously mentioned precursor material. Further described are methods of forming a fire insulation material and applications for such material in sheaths, duct coatings, cable trays and other elongate components.

Insulating spheres and method of manufacturing same
11074900 · 2021-07-27 ·

The present invention is a thermal and acoustic insulating sphere that has an evacuated hollow interior. The spheres are constructed of insulating materials, and the inner and outer surfaces of each sphere have highly reflective coatings evenly applied to them. The coatings applied to the inner and outer surfaces reduce the transmission of heat by conduction, convection, and radiation. Additionally, the spheres provide superior acoustic insulation due to the inability of sound to travel through the interior vacuum. The spheres can be used to produce insulating materials, for example, by embedding or positioning them within or between other materials, to provide thermal and acoustic insulation.

METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING MULTI-LAYER BALLOONS FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS
20210128892 · 2021-05-06 ·

A multi-layered balloon is provided where each layer is formed such that each layer is made from tubing that optimizes the inner wall stretch thus providing maximum balloon strength. The high pressure, multi-layer balloon is provided with layers that allow for slipping, such that the balloon has a very high pressure rating and toughness, yet excellent folding characteristics. Methods for producing such multi-layer balloons using existing balloon forming equipment are also provided. The multi-layer balloons can have alternating structural and lubricating layers, or layers with low-friction surfaces. The multi-layer balloons are preferably manufactured using a variety of methods including nesting, co-extrusion, or a combination of nesting and co-extrusion. The multi-layer balloons have balloon layers having substantially similar, or the same, high degree of biaxial orientation of their polymer molecules such that each balloon layer of the multi-layer balloon will fail at approximately the same applied pressure.

High speed low temperature method for manufacturing and repairing semiconductor processing equipment and equipment produced using same

A method for the joining of ceramic pieces into an assembly adapted to be used in semiconductor processing. The joined pieces are adapted to withstand the environments within a process chamber during substrate processing, chamber cleaning processes, and the oxygenated atmosphere which may be seen within the shaft of a heater or electrostatic chuck. The ceramic pieces may be aluminum nitride and the pieces may be brazed with aluminum. The joint material is adapted to withstand both the environments within a process chamber during substrate processing, and the oxygenated atmosphere which may be seen within the shaft of a heater or electrostatic chuck. The joint is adapted to provide a hermetic seal across the joint. The joined pieces are adapted to be separated at a later time should rework or replacement of one of the pieces be desired.
