Net-like structure having excellent low resilience characteristics
To provide a net-like structure having excellent low resilience characteristics, cushioning properties, and durability. The net-like structure has a three-dimensional random loop bonded structure constituted of a continuous linear body made of a thermoplastic elastomer having a fiber diameter of 0.1-3.0 mm and a styrene content of 10-40 mass %, the net-like structure having an apparent density of 0.005-0.30 g/cm.sup.3 and a 40 C. compression residual strain of less than or equal to 35%.
IMPROVED TUBULAR VENTING DEVICE FOR SURGICAL CASTS AND OTHER ORTHOPEDIC DEVICES
Described is a venting device including a flexible outer covering defining an outer surface and an inner surface, a set oc of helicoidal venting strips, and a set of helicoidal buffers. The outer covering has a first end and a second end and a longitudinal axis therebetween. Each venting strip is anchored to the inner surface and extends substantially between the first end and the second end and the set of venting strips is arranged substantially helicoidal and defines a set of helicoidal seams therebetween. The set of helicoidal buffers includes a buffer covering an inner opening of each seam of the set of helicoidal seams where eachbuffer is configured to shield the inner opening of the corresponding seam from penetration and each buffer is anchored to at least one of the outer covering and a neighbouring venting strip of the set of venting strips.
Insulation materials comprising fibers having a partially cured polymer coating thereon, structures including such insulation materials, and methods of insulating such structures
Insulation materials have a coating of a partially cured polymer on a plurality of fibers, and the plurality of coated fibers in a cross-linked polymeric matrix. Insulation may be formed by applying a preceramic polymer to a plurality of fibers, heating the preceramic polymer to form a partially cured polymer over at least portions of the plurality of fibers, disposing the plurality of fibers in a polymeric material, and curing the polymeric material. A rocket motor may be formed by disposing a plurality of coated fibers in an insulation precursor, curing the insulation precursor to form an insulation material without sintering the partially cured polymer, and providing an energetic material over the polymeric material. An article includes an insulation material over at least one surface.
NONPERMEABLE COMPOSITE MATERIAL
A composite material having a plurality of discrete layers layered on top of each other including a thermoformable foil or film layer; a core material layer; and a nonwoven material layer. The nonwoven material layer is adapted to face a stream of air and the core material layer is sandwiched between the nonwoven material layer and the thermoformable foil or film layer. The composite material may be used to form an air duct.
