A system and method for primarily erecting curvilinear buildings using a plurality of interconnected structural tubes/sandwich panels is provided. Fabricating structural tubing comprises: connecting a fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a flexible outer membrane, wherein the lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam material when cured; and curing the curable material. Fabricating a sandwich panel comprises: connecting a first fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a first flexible outer membrane, wherein the first lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam when cured; connecting a second fibrous and flexible lining to an inner surface of a second flexible outer membrane, wherein the second lining is saturated in a curable material that forms into a solid foam when cured; and curing the curable material of the first lining and second linings.

Intermediate layer comprising CNT polymer nanocomposite materials in fusers

Exemplary embodiments provide a fuser member containing an intermediate layer and methods for forming the intermediate layer and the fuser member. In one embodiment, the fuser member can include a substrate, a resilient layer, a surface layer and an intermediate layer disposed between the resilient layer (e.g., a silicone rubber layer) and the surface layer (e.g., a fluoroplastic of PFA or PTEE). The intermediate layer can include a CNT/polymer composite containing a plurality of carbon nanotubes in a polymer matrix. The surface layer and the fuser member can thus be treated at a temperature of about 250 C. or higher.

Open-clip blow molding method and a blow molded article which integrally provide a clip for securement to another item
10213952 · 2019-02-26 · ·

In a method, an article of unitary construction is blow molded and integrally provided with a clip for securement to another item. The clip has an arm initially blow molded into an open elevated configuration. The arm is pivotable into closed and open configurations. When closed, the arm is in selectively releasable and secure engagement with a catch on the article. The arm is biased towards the catch. When open, the arm is depressed relative to and biased towards the closed configuration. The open configuration is traversed to secure the article to the item. In the open elevated configuration, the arm is elevated relative to the closed configuration. The arm is preferably a carabiner-type arm. The article is preferably formed of a composition of matter including polyethylene and plastic additives to provide the arm with sufficient pre-built tension to stay in the aforesaid selectively releasable and secure engagement.

An in-situ molded foam core structural plastic article having an outer shell with an interior cavity filled with expandable polymer beads which when expanded substantially fill the interior cavity forming a thermal bond with the shell. The bead and shell are of a similar plastic composition enabling the articles to be reground and recycled. Various articles are disclosed including structural panels, and automotive seat, load floor, interior panel, bumper and running board components. An apparatus for forming the articles and an associated method of manufacture are also disclosed.

HIGH PRESSURE BALLOON

Composite fiber reinforced balloons for medical devices are prepared by applying a web of fibers to the exterior of a preformed underlayer balloon, encasing the web with a matrix material to form an assembly, and inserting the assembly into a preformed outer layer balloon to form the composite balloon.

A composite molded article has (A) a fiber-reinforced resin molded article (A) including a fiber-reinforced resin having a polyamide-based resin as a matrix resin, a molded article (B) including a modified vinyl-based copolymer, and a molded article (C) including a styrene-based resin layered in this order. A layer (B) including a modified vinyl-based copolymer is interposed as a joining layer between a layer (A) of a fiber-reinforced resin having a polyamide-based resin as a matrix resin and a layer (C) including a styrene-based resin, whereby a composite molded article can be obtained in which the layers (A), (B) and (C) are strongly joined and integrated, and a composite molded article can be obtained which has excellent characteristics not realizable by a single layer of the layer (A) or the layer (C).

Method of manufacturing a composite insert

A method of manufacturing a composite insert includes forming a polymer mold from a polymer sheet which may have a glass transition temperature of 70 to 160? C., the polymer mold either includes a cavity or may form a cavity disposed between the polymer mold and the carrier. The method proceeds by depositing a liquid reactive composite insert composition, which may be a two-component composition including a first part comprised of an isocyanate-epoxy blend and a second part comprised of an alcohol-epoxy blend, into the cavity under low pressure conditions of 0-10 bar and low temperature conditions of 15-100? C. The composition is then allowed to become dimensionally stable either within the polymer mold or between the polymer mold and the carrier.
