The present invention relates to a method for surface-modifying an object of a rubber vulcanizate or a thermoplastic elastomer, the method including step 1 of forming polymerization initiation points on a surface of the object, and step 2 of radically polymerizing a deliquescent monomer starting from the polymerization initiation points by irradiation with ultraviolet light having a wavelength within the range of 300 to 400 nm, to grow polymer chains on the surface of the object.
Vulcanization composition having reduced allergenic potential, and elastomeric articles formed therewith
The present invention generally relates to vulcanization compositions used to vulcanize elastomeric articles, where the vulcanization compositions have reduced allergenic potential as compared to elastomeric articles formed using vulcanization compositions having non-fugitive accelerators. The present invention also relates to elastomeric articles formed using the vulcanization compositions. The invention further relates to methods for making a reduced-allergenicity vulcanization composition, and to methods for using the vulcanization compositions to vulcanize elastomeric articles.

An acrylic elastomer layer 11 is prepared from an acrylic elastomer composition containing an epoxy group-containing acrylic elastomer as major component, an onium salt in an amount of 1 to 5 parts by mass and a polyol compound in an amount of 1 to 8 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the acrylic elastomer, and a fluorine-based elastomer layer 12 is prepared from a fluorine-based elastomer composition containing a polyol crosslinking agent. The acrylic elastomer layer 11 and the fluorine-based elastomer layer 12 are laminated, to give a laminate body 1. The laminate body 1 is cross-linked, to give a cross-linked product or a molded member.

The present disclosure provides a gas storage device. In an embodiment, the gas storage device includes a cylinder with opposing ends. An endcap is present at each end. The cylinder and the endcaps form an enclosure. Each endcap includes a connector. A diaphragm is located in the enclosure. The diaphragm includes an annular sidewall. The device includes an inner chamber defined by an inner surface of the sidewall, and a storage space between an interior surface of the cylinder and an outer surface of the sidewall. A metal hydride composition is located in the storage space.
