Thermoplastic composition with low hydrocarbon uptake
09757892 · 2017-09-12 · ·

Thermoplastic compositions are described that exhibit resistance to hydrocarbon absorption. Methods for forming the thermoplastic compositions are also described. Formation methods include combining a polyarylene sulfide with a first impact modifier and a second impact modifier such that the impact modifiers are dispersed throughout the polyarylene sulfide. A crosslinking agent can be combined with the other components of the composition following dispersal of the additives throughout the composition to dynamically crosslink at least one of the first and second impact modifiers.

Process for cross-linked polyethylene production

A method of producing a silane cross-linked polyethylene is disclosed which includes maleating a polyethylene polymer to form a maleated polyethylene and reacting the maleated polyethylene with a primary or secondary amino silane to form a silane-grafted polyethylene. The method further includes treating the silane-grafted polyethylene in a moisture curing process to form the silane cross-linked polyethylene.

Inside corner trim product

A flexible inside corner trim piece is formed with concave depressions at hinge portions where wings attach to the body. The trim piece can be formed such that wings and a top cap lay flat in plane perpendicular to body or wings and top cap curve at an angle. Hinge portions can be narrow or wide and symmetrical or asymmetrical. The trim piece can be dyed, paintable, or present another decorative surface. The trim piece can include embedded lighting.

Block copolymer derived from renewable materials and method for making such a block copolymer

The invention relates to a block copolymer derived from at least one ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide monomer containing .sup.14C. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing such a block copolymer.

Lattice coat surface enhancement for chamber components

Disclosed are embodiments for an engineered feature formed as a part of or on a chamber component. In one embodiment, a chamber component for a processing chamber includes a component part body having unitary monolithic construction. The component part body has an outer surface. An engineered complex surface is formed on the outer surface. The engineered complex surface has a first lattice framework formed from a plurality of first interconnected laths and a plurality of first openings are bounded by three or more laths of the plurality of laths.

Heat exchanger tube for a heat exchanger of an oxygenator

The invention relates to a heat exchanger tube (1) which is a component of a heat exchanger of an oxygenator. The heat exchanger tube (1) comprises a tube body (2) consisting of thermoplastic polyurethane (PTU). The tube body (2) has a Shore hardness of greater than 60 D. This results in a heat exchanger tube optimised for use in a heat exchanger of an oxygenator.

Polyamide-based composition, article obtained therefrom, and uses thereof
11760877 · 2023-09-19 · ·

The invention relates to a composition comprising at least one first polyamide, conforming to the formula MXD.Math.10 or MXD.Math.10/Z and having a melting temperature Tf.sub.1, and at least one second polyamide. Said at least second polyamide has a melting temperature Tf.sub.2 such that Tf.sub.1−40° C.≤Tf.sub.2<Tf.sub.1+20° C. The invention likewise relates to an article obtained from such a composition, to a method of shaping such an article, and to the use of such a composition and of such an article.

Polyester containers and films with reduced gas permeability

Three independent approaches to the reduction of gas molecule permeability through a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyester film or container wall by increasing the mechanically or thermally induced crystallinity or the overall crystallinity level of a single or multilayer container, where the three approaches may be employed independently or in combination with one another.

Composite polymer modifiers
11168205 · 2021-11-09 · ·

The invention relates to composite polymer modifiers for thermoplastic resins, and especially for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The composite modifier is an intimate blend of mineral filler and polymeric process aid, which is formed by the co-powderization of aqueous emulsions, suspensions or slurries of one or more mineral filler(s) and process aid(s). The resulting composite modifier provides more effective modification of the thermoplastic resin than by the use of the dried components formed separately. The composite modifier may also contain other co-powderized components such as impact modifiers, for additional benefits.

Composite core with non-traditional geometries

A composite core with non-traditional geometries includes multiple elongate tubes arranged in a two-dimensional array. Each tube is made of a composite material. Each tube includes multiple curved sides. Each curved side inwardly curves toward a longitudinal axis passing through a geometric center of the tube to form a valley on an outer surface of the tube. An end of a first curved side connects to an end of a second curved side to form a crest on the outer surface of the tube. At least one crest formed on an outer surface of a first tube in the two-dimensional array contacts at least one valley formed on an outer surface of an adjacent second tube in the two-dimensional array.
