Lightweight plastic container and preform
A plastic preform is provided that includes a closed bottom portion; a lower portion extending upwardly from the bottom portion; and a neck portion extending upwardly from the lower portion. The neck portion includes a support flange having an upper and lower surface, threads, a tamper-evident formation, and a dispensing opening at the top of the neck portion. In an embodiment, the weight of the neck portion is 3.0 grams or less; and the vertical distance from the top of the dispensing opening to the lower surface of the support flange, including the threads and the tamper-evident formation, is 0.580 inches or less. A container and method for making a container are also disclosed.
Formation of thermoplastic parts
A method and apparatus is presented. A portion is cut from a thermoplastic sheet of a first thermoplastic material based on a three dimensional model. The portion is secured to a mold. The portion and the mold are heated under vacuum to form a structure. The structure may take the form of a protective covering. In some illustrative examples, the mold may be formed of a second thermoplastic material based on the three dimensional model using additive manufacturing.
BIMODAL POLYETHYLENE FOR INJECTION STRETCH BLOW MOULDING APPLICATIONS
A polyethylene resin having a multimodal molecular weight distribution comprising at least two polyethylene fractions A and B, fraction A being substantially free of comonomer and having a lower weight average molecular weight and a higher density than fraction B, each fraction prepared in different reactors of two reactors connected in series in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system, the polyethylene resin having a density of from 0.950 to 0.965 g/cm.sup.3 and a melt index MI2 of from 0.5 to 5 g/10 min.
COVERING CAP AND MEASURING DEVICE
A covering cap, in particular for placing on a skin analyzer, contains an end wall bounded by a circumferential edge, and a circumferential wall adjoining the circumferential edge of the end wall. At least one part of the covering cap has a thickness that is less than a thickness of the circumferential wall in a portion of the circumferential wall that lies in the region or end of the circumferential wall remote from the end wall. The end wall is of a gas-permeable configuration.
POLYMERIC MATERIAL FOR AN INSULATED CONTAINER
A formulation includes a polymeric material, a nucleating agent, a blowing, and a surface active agent. The formulation can be used to form a container.
Door assembly
A door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
Polymeric material for an insulated container
A formulation includes a polymeric material, a nucleating agent, a blowing, and a surface active agent. The formulation can be used to form a container.
Polyester compositions containing cyclobutanediol having a certain combination of inherent viscosity and high glass transition temperature and articles made therefrom
Described are coating compositions comprising a polyester, the polyester comprising: at least one polyester which comprises a dicarboxylic acid component comprising terephthalic acid residues, and a glycol component comprising 30 to 40 mole % 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues and 60 to 70 mole % cyclohexanedimethanol residues, where the inherent viscosity of the polyester is from 0.10 to 0.70 dL/g, and where the coating composition is made from a film or sheet.
POLYPROPYLENE AND ARTICLES THEREOF
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of polypropylene having: a molecular weight of 450,000-950,000, a molecular weight distribution of 3-6, and xylene soluble content of 2-6 wt %, by converting propylene into the polypropylene without pre-polymerization in the presence of a polymerization catalyst under a condition where the volume ratio of H.sub.2 to propylene is at most 0.0020, wherein the catalyst comprises a catalyst component and a co-catalyst, wherein the catalyst component is obtained by a process wherein a compound with formula Mg(OAlk).sub.xCl.sub.y wherein x is larger than 0 and smaller than 2, y equals 2-x and each Alk, independently, represents an alkyl group, is contacted with a titanium tetraalkoxide and/or an alcohol in the presence of an inert dispersant to give an intermediate reaction product and wherein the intermediate reaction product is contacted with titanium tetrachloride in the presence of an internal donor.
Lightweight plastic container and preform
A plastic container is provided that includes a lower supporting base portion; a sidewall portion extending upwardly from the base portion; a neck portion extending upwardly from the sidewall portion; and a closure. A preform and method for making a container are also disclosed.
