Crosslinked coating compositions for packaging articles such as food and beverage containers
A method of forming a coating on a food or beverage container, which includes spraying a coating composition onto an interior surface of the food or beverage container, where the coating composition includes a latex copolymer and a metal drier or crosslinking agent. The latex copolymer is a reaction product of monomers that include (a) one or more styrene-offset monomers containing one or more cyclic groups and one or more ethylenically-unsaturated pendant groups, at least a portion of such styrene-offset monomers being polycyclic monomers containing ring unsaturation, and (b) one or more other ethylenically-unsaturated monomers. Preferably, the coating composition is substantially free of BPA, PVC, and styrene. The method may also include curing the sprayed coating composition, thereby providing the coating on the interior surface of the food or beverage container.
Bowmar nose button
An archery aiming aid clips to a bow string and may be fixed at a position along the string so that an archer may draw the bow such that the bead contacts the archer's nose. The nose button provides an exact point of contact for the archer to place his or her face on the string in the exact same spot every time. The nose button improves accuracy in shooting because its extremely precise locatability on the archers face at full draw enables a consistent, repeatable anchor point, which is the face to string contact being established in exactly the same way every time.
Fibrous elements and fibrous structures employing same
Fibrous elements, such as filaments, and more particularly to fibrous elements employing a polymer and a wetting agent, methods for making such fibrous elements, fibrous structures employing such fibrous elements, methods for making such fibrous structures and packages containing such fibrous structures are provided.
Ultra-high IV polyester for extrusion blow molding and method for its production
A method for producing ultra-high intrinsic viscosity (IV) polyester resin pellets from a resin that contains one or more comonomers in an amount of up to 30 mol%. The method includes extruding a polyethylene terephthalate polyester starting material having a starting IV (IVst) meeting the following relationship: 0.65 dL/g <IVst <0.9 dL/g, to form resin particles having no more than 0.05 dL/g of IV lift due to solid-state polymerization, then latent heat crystallizing the resin particles to form crystallized particles having a variation of IV of no more than 0.05 dL/g across any dimension of the crystallized particles. The crystallized particles are then solid state polymerized to a final IV (IVf) of at least 0.9 dL/g to form the ultra-high intrinsic viscosity (IV) polyester resin pellets. During the solid state polymerizing the IV lift rate is at least 0.012 dL/g/hr.
DOOR ASSEMBLY
A door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member. The frame member may include a core; and a two-piece top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The door assembly may further include at least one adjacent panel. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
Overmoulding method for preforms to be converted into containers and device therefor
Method for manufacturing plastic preforms (10) by injection moulding, consisting of sub-preforms (11, 12) injected at the same time, wherein (1) the injection mould (3) containing the injected composite preform (10) and secondary sub-preform (12) is 1 st closed, and a gripper (4) provided with a set of receiving members (16) is set in a standby position (A) aside from the mould (3); in a 2nd step (2) the mould (3) is opened, wherein each primary core (33) bears an injected composite preform (10), and the secondary core (33) a secondary inner preform (12); the gripper (4) is then driven (3) in motion between the standby position (A) and a take-over position (B), wherein the injected preforms (10, 12) are cooled and taken over from the core side (31) by the gripper (4) by means of suction means (6); wherein the gripper (4) is further moved (4) into a further operating position (C), in which it places the received secondary inner preforms (12) onto the respective primary cores (33) and continues to hold said preforms (11), with formation of integrated preforms (10) which are expelled to a discharge unit.
Mobile electronic devices made of low-chlorine aromatic polysulfones
The present invention relates a mobile electronic device comprising at least one part made of a polymer composition comprising for more than 80% by weight (% wt.) relative to the total weight of the composition (C) of an aromatic polysulfone polymer comprising a residual chlorine content in an amount of less than 25 eq/g polymer.
Preform extended finish for processing light weight ecologically beneficial bottles
Disclosed are preforms which incorporate improvements in the region of the neck and upper segment of the body to allow the production of lightweight containers, such as bottles suitable for containing water or other beverages. In accordance with certain embodiments, the improvements include a thinner neck finish area than conventional bottles, where the thinner area is extended into the upper segment of the body portion below the support ring. Reducing the thickness in these areas of the bottle allows for less resin to be used in forming the preform and bottle.
Polyester compositions containing furandicarboxylic acid or an ester thereof, and 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol
Described are polyesters comprising (a) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid residues; optionally, aromatic dicarboxylic acid residues and/or modifying aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residues and 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues. The polyesters may be manufactured into articles such as fibers, films, bottles, coatings, or sheets.
