Connection system, connection arrangement and method
A connection system has a first adhesion segment, on which a first connection region is formed, a second adhesion segment, on which a second connection region is formed, and a solidifiable liquid connection substance for connecting the two adhesion segments in a material fit, wherein at least one of the two connection regions is formed flexibly, such that, when the liquid connection substance is introduced between the two connection regions which are opposite one another in an assembly arrangement of the two adhesion segments, a material connection is formed between the two connection regions automatically as a result of the elastocapillary effect via the liquid connection substance.
Method of making a structured surface and article therefrom
A method of making a structured surface is disclosed. The method includes providing a thermoplastic backing with multiple rows of upstanding elements. The upstanding elements include stems with proximal ends attached to the thermoplastic backing and distal caps, and each distal cap has an overhanging portion that extends beyond the stem in a first direction. For at least some of the multiple rows, an implement is passed between two adjacent rows, wherein the implement contacts the overhanging portion of at least some of the distal caps in the two adjacent rows such that at least part of the overhanging portion is turned in a second direction, different from the first direction. A structured surface that can be prepared by the method is also provided along with a fastening laminate that includes a carrier and the structured surface and an absorbent article that includes the fastening laminate. A tool useful for carrying out the method is also provided.
Medical line retaining device and method of using the same
The invention is directed towards a retaining device for retaining at least one medical line. The retaining device includes a flexible body having a top and bottom surface with at least one slot formed in the top surface. The at least one slot extends to a depth greater than the largest medical line the retaining device is destined to be used with. An attachment mechanism is coupled to the flexible body for securing the flexible body to a supportive surface.
A THERMOFORMED PART COMPRISING A DETACHABLE PART AND A PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH A PART
The invention relates to a workpiece having a shape produced by thermoforming from at least one sheet (3) of plastic material, such as polycarbonate, and at least one applied element (6, 8; 7, 9) that is applied to the at least one sheet and secured there, characterised in that the securing of the at least one applied element to the at least one sheet takes place at least partially by means of crimping.
Fastening device
A fastening device has a supporting part (9), adhesive fastening elements (25) attached to the supporting part and protruding from the supporting part (9), a shaft part (27) protruding beyond the supporting part (9), and at least one elastically resilient hooking part (19). Each hooking part (19) extends outward away from the shaft part (27) or a holding part (29) for the hooking part (19) in an initial position, forming an intermediate space (30), which is reduced as soon as the hooking part (19) is moved toward the shaft part (27) or the holding part (29) under the influence of an external application of force.
RUG MOUNTING SYSTEMS AND METHOD
A rug mounting system and method includes an elongate fastening driven into a flooring surface. The elongate fastener is coupled with a fastening area and a complementary fastener. The underside of the rug is fitted with a complementary fastening area and fastener. A flat item that includes the fastening area is affixed to the flooring surface, and the elongate fastener is applied to the flooring surface therethrough, thus exposing the lower end fasteners. The rug is then placed over both fastening types and mounted on the ground. One, or more, mounting systems may be used to secure a rug to the ground.
UNIVERSAL WRAPAROUND STEP COVER
A universal wraparound cover for a step includes opposed ends with equivalent number of multiple tabs and fasteners engaging the tabs through holes in the opposed ends to secure the cover to the step. Rear tabs include multiple reinforced attachment points, and the forward tabs include a single attachment point each. The wraparound cover can therefore be fitted over numerous side supported step types.
Decorative functional component having a transparent partial surface
A decorative functional component with a transparent partial surface includes a substrate and a flat cover body. The substrate is of a first plastic material and has a recess. The cover body is of a transparent second plastic material and covers the recess of the substrate. The substrate and the cover body are connected together by a loose form-fit connection. The substrate and the cover body and are jointly coated with a low viscosity curing transparent plastic flooded thereon.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ADHESION
A material engagement element sheet formed from a sheet material (10) incorporates a pattern of material engagement element slots (14), each slot containing an array of material engagement elements (20) which have a tapered distal section (30), a flange section (34) and a proximal section (32) which is attached to an edge of the slots in the sheet material. The material engagement element sheet material may be a single layer of shape memory material, or the sheet material may be a composite of different layers some of which may include pre-strained shape memory materials with distinguishable activation parameters. The material engagement element slot configuration allows for the simultaneous processing of the material engagement elements. The material engagement elements may be processed such that they are in a state that is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the material engagement element sheet. The configuration of the flexible base material and the pattern of the material engagement element slots may be used in order to manufacture various material engagement element devices including a material engagement element pad device (166), a cylindrical material engagement element device (104, 105), and a spherical material engagement element device (152).
Anchoring apparatus and method for attaching device on body
The present invention describes improved systems and methods for attaching external medical devices to the body of a patient using a multilayer attachment apparatus. Medical devices that require attachment to the body, including monitoring devices, drug-infusing devices and the like, can utilize embodiments of the attachment apparatus and method described herein. Embodiments of the invention include new adhesive and hook and loop attachment mechanisms and methods for using embodiments of the multilayer attachment apparatus to attach medical device and/or medical device components to the body.
