Foam structural material, resin panel, and method for manufacturing a resin panel

A foam structure includes: a first core material and a second core material that are obtained by splitting a foam body at a linear groove part, the groove part being formed in the foam body for fitting with a reinforcing material, and the reinforcing material into which the first core material and the second core material are respectively fitted from one side and the other side of the reinforcing material.

Layered insulation system

A layered insulation system comprising one or more layers. A variety of types of layers can be used in conjunction with one another to deliver a range of desired Low-E and/or Low-U insulation properties and/or venting choices. Some types of layers can be foam layers with foam that inhibits heat conjunction interspersed with microparticles and/or nanoparticles that reflect, scatter, abate, and/or negate infrared radiation (IR) wavelengths, including dampening Ideal Model Matrix vibrations to inhibit heat flux through an IR opaque system. Other layers can be Low-E layers, Low-U layers, primarily empty layers, and/or other types of layers.

FABRICATION OF FREE STANDING MEMBRANES AND USE THEREOF FOR SYNTHESIS OF NANOPARTICLE PATTERNS
20180113384 · 2018-04-26 ·

The present disclosure discloses a method of fabrication of free standing open pore membranes with uniform pore size and shape and ordered pore distribution, and its use for synthesis of nanoparticle patterns. The method includes applying a photoresist layer to the top surface of a substrate, heating the photoresist layer for a period of time, and exposing the photoresist layer to a dose of ultraviolet radiation through a mask having a predetermined pattern. The dose of ultraviolet radiation is controlled in intensity and time and the photoresist layer is exposed such that a top portion of the photoresist layer through which the dose of ultraviolet radiation enters the photoresist layer undergoes greater cross linking than a bottom portion of the photoresist layer immediately adjacent to the top surface of the substrate such that a cross linking gradient develops through a thickness of the photoresist layer. The mask is removed and the membrane is readily detached from the top surface of the substrate since the portion of the membrane adjacent to the top surface is less cross linked than the top surface of the membrane. The detached membrane forms a free standing patterned membrane having a preselected pattern of open pores. The method can be used with positive photoresist materials as well when deposited on a UV transparent substrate so that the photoresist can be exposed to UV from its top with photomask and UV exposure from its back of the transparent substrate without the photomask.

Sandwich structure

A sandwich structure employs a core sheet including alternating peaks and valleys therein. In another aspect, a sandwich structure includes at least one metallic core and at least one adhesively bonded outer face sheet. Yet another aspect of a sandwich structure has raised ridges bridging between adjacent peaks in a core sheet in one direction but not in a perpendicular direction, thereby achieving different properties in the different sheet directions.

4D contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT)

A method includes performing a contrast enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan of tissue of interest of a subject, with an imaging system (100) having a radiation source (112) and a detector array (118), in which a peak contrast enhancement of the tissue of interest, a full range of motion of the tissue of interest, and an entire volume of interest of the tissue of interest are concurrently imaged during a single rotation of the radiation source and the detector array of the imaging system over an entire or a predetermined sub-portion of a breathing cycle.

Protective padding layer

A flexible padding layer for use during competitive sports is provided. The flexible padding layer is comprised of a plurality of individual padding elements each joined on multiple sides with an adjacent padding element via a thin, connecting section. Each padding element further comprises openings and a three-dimensional surface configuration to allow for consistent mechanical properties throughout the padding layer as a whole.

Porous nanomaterials having three-dimensional patterning

Provided are methods for imprinting a porous material, the methods including applying a first stamp to a porous material having an average pore size of less than about 100 m, the first stamp having at least a first portion having a first height, a second portion having a second height and a third portion having a third height, wherein the first height, second height and third height are different.

Anti-marking coverings for printing presses

In a printing press and attached onto the transfer cylinders, an anti-marking system that uniformly supports the transport and the release of the wet printed sheet from one station to the next. The anti-marking sheet consists of a two plus layer system, the outer layer being a textured surface and the inner layer being a microcellular material that is both compressible and resilient. The outer textured layer may be treated with either conductive/anti-static layers or an ink repellent layer or both. The two plus layer system is easily attached to both transfer cylinders and tracking/skeleton wheels using any combination of fixtures from Velcro, magnetic, metallic, and pressure sensitive double sided tape to elastic loops.
