Substrate with a partial metal multilayer, glazing unit and process
The invention relates to a substrate (30) coated on one face (31) with a multilayer of thin films (34) comprising at least one metal functional layer (140) based on silver or made of silver and two antireflective coatings (120, 160), the said antireflective coatings each comprising at least one antireflective layer (124, 164), the said functional layer (140) being disposed between the two antireflective coatings (120, 160), characterized in that the said metal functional layer (140) is a discontinuous layer having a surface area occupation factor in the range between 50% and 98%, or even between 53% and 83%.
Resin joined body and method for manufacturing same
A method for producing a resin joined body in which a specific region L1 of a welding portion of a second resin member (21) is provided to form a low-laser-light-transmissible portion, and the low-laser-light-transmissible portion has a laser light transmissibility lower than that of a region of the welding portion other than the specific region L1. Welding is carried out so that a portion between points S2 and F2, serving as a weld overlap portion (112), is present in the specific region L1 forming the low-laser-light-transmissible portion. Also disclosed is a resin joined body.
Coating compositions for security elements and holograms
The present invention relates to the use of coating compositions, comprising shaped transition metal, especially silver, particles and a binder, wherein the ratio of pigment to binder is preferably such that the resulting coating shows an angle dependent color change, for the production of security elements and holograms. When the coating compositions of the present invention are used in coating a hologram the obtained products show a an angle dependent color change (flip/flop effect), different colors in reflection and transmission, an extremely bright OVD image and extremely strong rainbow effect, high purity and contrast.
Label for marking items
The present invention relates to a label for marking items comprising a carrier material with a top side and a bottom side. The carrier material is printable at least on the top side. Adhesive layers are provided on the bottom side and the top side, wherein at least the adhesive layer provided on the top side can be activated for example by heat.
Structures having isolated graphene layers with a reduced dimension
Graphite-based devices with a reduced characteristic dimension and methods for forming such devices are provided. One or more thin films are deposited onto a substrate and undesired portions of the deposited thin film or thin films are removed to produce processed elements with reduced characteristic dimensions. Graphene layers are generated on selected processed elements or exposed portions of the substrate after removal of the processed elements. Multiple sets of graphene layers can be generated, each with a different physical characteristic, thereby producing a graphite-based device with multiple functionalities in the same device.
Prepregs including UV curable resins useful for manufacturing semi-flexible PCBs
Prepregs having a UV curable resin layer located adjacent to a thermally curable resin layer wherein the UV curable resin layer includes at least one UV cured resin portion and at least one UV uncured resin as well as methods for preparing flexible printed circuit boards using the prepregs.
Method and system for ink jet printing images to complex contoured surfaces of ceramic and glass items such as dishware
A glass or ceramic dishware item with an image disposed thereon is provided. The image is transferred, at ambient temperature, to the surface of the dishware from an ink composite by using a silicone transfer substrate. The ink composite is dispensed by an inkjet head. Methods and systems for producing ink composites and dishware using ink composites are also provided.
Composite pane for a motor vehicle and motor vehicle having such a composite pane
A composite pane for a motor vehicle, in particular the front pane, is formed from a first pane and a second pane, which are adhered to one another by way of a film. A coating reflecting infrared rays is applied to the film. The coating has at least one cut-out, within which a transponder is arranged between the two panes. A motor vehicle has a composite pane as described above.
Method for manufacturing a plate shaped product and plate shaped product manufactured thereby
A method is presented for manufacturing a plate shaped product, comprising the steps of manufacturing a first intermediate product which comprises at least, successively, a carrier, a plastic printing layer, a decorative print layer and a plastic protective layer, by using a multiple coating process, manufacturing a second intermediate product which comprises at least one plastic layer, by using at least a calendering process, and combining the first and second intermediate products by laminating, such that the second intermediate product is attached to the first intermediate product. Further a plate shaped product is provided which is manufactured using said method.
Hermetic metallized via with improved reliability
According to various embodiments described herein, an article comprises a glass or glass-ceramic substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, and a via extending through the substrate from the first major surface to the second major surface over an axial length in an axial direction. The article further comprises a helium hermetic adhesion layer disposed on the interior surface; and a metal connector disposed within the via, wherein the metal connector is adhered to the helium hermetic adhesion layer. The metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a first cavity from the first major surface to a first cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the first major surface. Additionally, the metal connector coats the interior surface of the via along the axial length of the via to define a second cavity from the second major surface to a second cavity length, the metal connector comprising a coating thickness of less than 12 μm at the second major surface and fully fills the via between the first cavity and the second cavity.
