09884962 · 2018-02-06 · ·

A composition, including at least one curable structural adhesive, and at least one thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is present in the structural adhesive as penetrating polymer network. Such a composition constitutes a so-called shape memory material and is suitable for reinforcing cavities in structural components, such as, for example, in automobile bodies.

Method for coating metallic surfaces with an aqueous composition

The invention relates to a process for coating metallic surfaces with a composition containing at least one of a silane, silanol, siloxane or polysiloxane that is capable of condensation, water and optionally an organic solvent. The composition also contains compound containing Ti, Hf, Zr, Al or B; and at least one type of cation or an organic compound d) selected from monomers, oligomers, polymers, copolymers and block copolymers. The coating freshly applied with this composition is rinsed with a fluid and is not dried thoroughly before this rinsing step so that the compound capable of condensation does not condense substantially before the rinsing step.

TWO-COAT SINGLE CURE POWDER COATING

Methods and systems for coating metal substrates are provided. The methods and systems include sequential application of low flow and high flow powder coatings followed by a single heating step to provide a cured coating. The methods and systems include a marker that allows coating uniformity to be monitored and assessed during application. The described methods provide coatings with optimal surface smoothness and edge coverage.

Surface ornament composition for part of fishing tackle or bicycle

A surface ornament composition for fishing tackle or a bicycle is provided. An inner coating layer is laminated on a part made of fiber reinforced plastics, a silver thin film coating layer is laminated on the inner coating layer and an outer coating layer is laminated on the silver thin film coating layer. The inner and outer coating layers are formed by use of one selected from resin paint of two-part type formed by urethane reaction of isocyanate group and hydroxyl group, resin paint of two-part type formed by reaction of resin having amino group and silicon compound having epoxy group and resin paint of two-part or three part type in which the above two reactions are simultaneously generated. The silver thin film coating layer is formed of metal complex of silver with amine as ligand that is heated after having been applied.

BONDED METAL AND THERMOPLASTIC COMPONENTS

A method for bonding components is provided. The method includes preparing a surface of a metal component, applying a film adhesive to the prepared surface, forming a thermoplastic component using injection molding such that the film adhesive is positioned between the metal component and the thermoplastic component, and curing the film adhesive.

Aqueous primer composition for enhanced film formation and method of using the same

A water-based bonding primer composition and a method of applying the same onto a metallic surface prior to adhesive bonding. The bonding primer composition is a water-based dispersion containing water, one or more epoxy resins, one or more curing agents, a silane compound, a low amount of propylene carbonate (PC), and optional additives. The bonding primer composition can form substantially smooth films by spraying, and at the same time, meet environmental regulations and provide high bonding performance.
