Fluid path containing a pressure isolation valve

A fluid path set including a multi-patient use section adapted for connection with a pump device and a source of injection fluid, and a per-patient use section adapted for removable fluid communication with the multi-patient use section. The per-patient use section includes a pressure isolation mechanism having a first port adapted for connection to the pump device via the multi-patient use section, a second port adapted for connection to a patient, and a pressure isolation port adapted for connection to a source of medical fluid via the multi-patient use section. The per-patient use section includes a valve member biased to a normally open position permitting fluid communication between the first port, the second port, and the pressure isolation port, and movable to a closed position to close the pressure isolation port when fluid pressure reaches a predetermined pressure level sufficient to overcome a biasing force applied to the valve member.

Prediction, visualization, and control of drug delivery by infusion pumps

Systems for predicting a drug delivery profile as described herein include at least one drug pump and/or a controllable valve that produce a drug flow and dispense at least a first drug. The system also includes at least one carrier fluid pump and/or another controllable valve that produces a carrier fluid flow, a flow junction structure configured to receive the drug flow and the carrier fluid flow to produce a mixed flow, and a fluid path for carrying the mixed flow between the flow junction structure and a delivery point. The system further includes a processing device configured to predict the drug delivery profile at the delivery point based on determining a predicted time variation of drug concentration at the delivery point using at least a model of the mixed flow. The model includes a plurality of parameters related to propagation of the mixed flow through the fluid path.

VALVE AND A METHOD FOR ADMINISTERING A PLURALITY OF DRUG FLUIDS

A valve and a method for administering a plurality of drug fluids to a patient are disclosed. For each drug fluid, the valve may be rotated into a selected drug position associated with the drug fluid. With the valve being in the selected drug position, a backpriming may be performed of a connector line of a drug container containing the drug fluid. Thereafter, the drug fluid may be administered with the valve being in the same selected drug position. Thereafter, the valve may be flushed, optionally while maintaining the same selected valve position.
