Apparatus is described for administering a substance to a subject. A vial contains the substance and a stopper is disposed within the vial and is slidably coupled to the vial. A first threaded element is (a) rotatable with respect to the vial and (b) substantially immobile proximally with respect to the vial during rotation of the first threaded element. A second threaded element is threadedly coupled to the first threaded element. At least a distal end of the second threaded element is substantially non-rotatable with respect to the vial, and the distal end of the second threaded element defines a coupling portion that couples the second threaded element to the stopper. The first threaded element, by rotating, linearly advances the stopper and at least the distal end of the second threaded element toward a distal end of the vial. Other embodiments are also described.

FLUID PATH IMPEDANCE ASSESSMENT FOR IMPROVING FLUID DELIVERY PERFORMANCE

A fluid injector system for delivering a multi-phase fluid injection to a patient and methods of fluid delivery is disclosed. Methods of creating and using a multi-aspect fluid path impedance model of the injector system are used. Modeling and adjustment of factors that affect impedance and prevent or reduce backflow, reduce the likelihood of fluid flow rate spikes and provide more accurate flow rates and mixing ratios of fluids may be repeated or happen essentially continuously during an injection. The adjustments may be determined before the injection or determined and/or adjusted during the injection. The determination may include sensor feedback commonly used in injectors such as pressure and position feedback as well as other sensors. In all cases, the user can be notified of adjustments through on-screen notices and/or through the recordation of the injection data by a control device of the injector at the conclusion of the injection.

Syringe pump and related method

A pump for administering an agent to a patient includes a housing, a syringe seat, and a bumper. The syringe seat is coupled to the housing. The bumper is coupled to the housing adjacent to the syringe seat.

Selectively controlling fluid flow through a fluid pathway

Systems and methods for controlling fluid delivery via a manually administrable medication container to a patient through a fluid delivery pathway are provided. The systems and methods described herein incorporate rules-based clinical decision support logic to drive a flow control valve within a flow pathway based on a determination of whether or not an IV fluid connected to an input port on the pathway is appropriate for patient administration by considering such factors as patient-specific clinical circumstances, current medical orders, and accepted delivery protocols. Related apparatus, systems, methods and articles are also described.

Drug infusion device with controllable valve

A therapeutic fluid delivery device that includes at least one controllable valve is generally described. In one example, an implantable therapeutic fluid delivery system includes a first fluid pathway configured to convey a first therapeutic fluid and a second fluid pathway configured to convey a second therapeutic fluid, the second fluid pathway being separate from the first fluid pathway. The therapeutic fluid delivery system includes a valve connected to the first fluid pathway and the second fluid pathway, and a processor configured to control actuation of the valve to open and close the first fluid pathway and to open and close the second fluid pathway.

INFUSION PUMP SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH COMMON LINE AUTO FLUSH

An infusion pump system and method with common line auto flush, wherein the infusion pump system has a first reservoir, a second reservoir, a junction, a common line having one end in fluid connection with the junction and having a terminal fluid delivery end, and an infusion pump. The method includes infusing the first fluid at a first rate along a first flow path; entering a common line flush volume value for the common line; switching from the first flow path to a second flow path; driving the second fluid at the first rate along the second flow path; monitoring volume of the second fluid driven at the first rate; and driving the second fluid at a second rate along the second flow path when the monitored volume is equal to or greater than the common line flush volume value.

NUTRITION PUMP, INFUSION DEVICE, CONTROL VALVE AND LIQUID CONTROL METHOD

The present disclosure relates to a nutrition pump, an infusion set, a control valve and a method for controlling liquid comprising a pump body and an infusion set, wherein the infusion set comprises a control valve, and the pump body is mounted with a pump wheel; the control valve comprises a valve body and a valve core capable of matingly connected to the valve body, the valve body comprising a first input pipe and a second input pipe for connecting with the liquid to be infused, a cylindrical structure and an output pipe for outputting the liquid to be infused, one end of a coupling shaft is connected to a motor, and the other end is connected to the valve core so that the motor drives the valve core to rotate through the coupling shaft. The disclosure can realize the free switching of the two liquids, eliminate the risk of liquid leakage in the feeding process of the nutrition pump with a low cost and high precision.

Unified Drug Mixer And Dispenser

A unified dispenser for holding, mixing, and dispensing a drug includes a housing holding a diluent reservoir, a drug reservoir, and a tubing set connecting and defining a fluid communication path therebetween. A first occlusion is at the diluent reservoir, and a second occlusion is at the drug reservoir. In a storage state of the dispenser, the first and second occlusions are entirely encased within the housing and occlude the fluid communication path. First and second pull assemblies extend outside the housing. The first and second pull assemblies are coupled to the first and second occlusions, respectively, so that removal of the first and second pull assemblies removes the first and second occlusions and joins the diluent reservoir to the drug reservoir in fluid communication through the tubing set, thereby arranging the dispenser from the storage state to a use state.
