A system and method for assessing an intravenous catheter site is described in embodiments herein. An application accessible on a mobile device may be used to take calibrated photographs of an intravenous catheter site. The resulting calibrated image may be compared to previously taken calibrated images to determine a complication. Success of treatments to the complication may be tracked and the patient's electronic medical record may be updated.

Drug delivery systems and methods with back pressure sensing

Systems and methods for injecting a drug and detecting tissue induced back pressure are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a reservoir filled or fillable with a drug, an administration member connected or connectable in fluid communication with the reservoir, a drive assembly, and a pressure sensor. The administration member may be configured for insertion into and subsequently retraction from a patient. The drive assembly may be configured to urge the drug from the reservoir to deliver a dose of the drug to the patient via the administration member. The pressure sensor may be configured to detect tissue back pressure during use of the drug delivery system, including after dose completion and prior to retraction of the administration member. The drug delivery system may be controlled in a manner that accounts for the tissue back pressure measurement.

An automated dose-response record system including a module for housing waste-heat producing electronic and electromechanical medical equipment including at least one physiologic monitor, and including a system to measure, temporally correlate and record dose and response events.

INFUSION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TESTING EXTRAVASATION
20230158230 · 2023-05-25 ·

An infusion apparatus and a method for testing extravasation are provided. The infusion apparatus includes a liquid driver, a detection unit, and a controller. The controller controls the liquid driver to be operated, so that an input liquid provided by a infusion supply unit is injected into a living body through a tube and a needle, and a blood return detecting procedure is performed. The blood return detecting procedure includes a stop driving step implemented by controlling the liquid driver to stop operating; and a determining step implemented by controlling the detection unit to test a state of a section of the tube adjacent to the needle to generate a detected signal, and determining whether or not the blood of the living body returns to the tube according to the detected signal.

Selectively controlling fluid flow through a fluid pathway

Systems and methods for controlling fluid delivery via a manually administrable medication container to a patient through a fluid delivery pathway are provided. The systems and methods described herein incorporate rules-based clinical decision support logic to drive a flow control valve within a flow pathway based on a determination of whether or not an IV fluid connected to an input port on the pathway is appropriate for patient administration by considering such factors as patient-specific clinical circumstances, current medical orders, and accepted delivery protocols. Related apparatus, systems, methods and articles are also described.
