LIQUIDS AND VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL REPELLENT AND ANTI-BIOFOULING COATINGS
A coated smooth surface of a substrate repels liquids and viscoelastic materials and can have anti-staining and anti-biofouling properties. The smooth surface can be coated by applying a chemical layer on the surface and a lubricant. Such coated surfaces are useful for use in toilets, urinals, or other devices for the processing of liquids and viscoelastic materials such as solid or semi-solid metabolic waste of human digestive system. Such coated surfaces can also be applied to windows for buildings or vehicles such as automobiles or camera lenses to repel liquids (e.g. rain), ice, frost, insect residues, and birds' feces.
INFORMATION CARRYING CARD COMPRISING A CROSS-LINKED POLYMER COMPOSITION, AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
The disclosure provides a cross-linkable polymer composition, a core layer for an information carrying card comprising such cross-linked composition, resulting information carrying card, and methods of making the same. An information carrying card includes a body defining a first cavity and a second cavity. The first cavity has a first area and the second cavity has a second area. The first cavity is continuous with the second cavity and the second area is less than the first area. A circuit element is disposed within the first cavity.

Syringe with PECVD lubrication
A syringe or other vessel having a substrate surface coated by PECVD is provided. The PECVD coating is made by generating plasma from a gaseous reactant comprising an organosilicon precursor and optionally O.sub.2. The lubricity, hydrophobicity and/or barrier properties of the coating are set by setting the ratio of the O.sub.2 to the organosilicon precursor in the gaseous reactant, and/or by setting the electric power used for generating the plasma. In particular, a lubricity coating made by said method is provided. Vessels coated by said method and the use of such vessels protecting a compound or composition contained or received in said coated vessel against mechanical and/or chemical effects of the surface of the uncoated vessel material are also provided.
Thermal interface material (TIM) with thermally conductive integrated release layer
A thermal interface material (TIM) includes a modified release layer having an organosilane-coated surface covalently bound to a TIM formulation layer. The modified release layer may be formed by applying an organosilane (e.g., vinyltriethoxysilane) to the surface of a thermally conductive release layer (e.g., aluminum foil). The organosilane reacts with hydroxyl groups on the surface of the thermally conductive release layer. The TIM formulation layer may be formed by applying a TIM formulation (e.g., a graphite TIM formulation) containing an unsaturated monomer (e.g., methyl acrylate) to the organosilane-coated surface of the modified release layer, and then curing the TIM formulation so that the unsaturated monomer of the TIM formulation reacts with the organosilane-coated surface of the modified release layer.
MULTILAYER ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SILANE-GRAFTED POLYOLEFIN
The present invention relates to a silane-grafted polyolefin, to a multilayer composition comprising said polyolefin and to an article comprising said composition.
Methods for coating articles
Coated articles and methods and systems for coating the articles are described herein. The methods and systems described herein include, but are not limited to, steps for actively or passively controlling the temperature during the coating process, steps for providing intimate contact between the substrate and the support holding the substrate in order to maximize energy transfer, and/or steps for preparing gradient coatings. Methods for depositing high molecular weight polymeric coatings, end-capped polymer coatings, coatings covalently bonded to the substrate or one another, metallic coatings, and/or multilayer coatings are also disclosed. Deposition of coatings can be accelerated and/or improved by applying an electrical potential and/or through the use of inert gases.
COATING RESIN COMPOSITION AND COATING FILM COMPRISING CURED ARTICLE THEREOF AS COATING LAYER
The present invention relates to a coating resin composition comprising a siloxane resin chemically bonded by compounds including an alkoxy silane containing epoxy or acrylic in the chemical structure; a dialkoxysilane of a silane D structure; or a trialkoxy silane of a silane T structure, and to a coating film comprising a cured article of the resin composition as a coating layer.
Sol-gel coating method and composition
A coating composition and a method for coating metallic substrates, such as aircraft components exposed to elevated temperatures and/or oxidative conditions. The coating composition includes an aqueous mixture having about 2 vol % to about 50 vol % organosilane, about 0.3 to about 25 vol % metal alkoxide, and about 0.1 to about 30 vol % organic complexing agent. The coating composition may be deposited on a metallic substrate and cured to form a sol-gel coating on the surface of the substrate that is adherent to the substrate, and oxidation and discoloration resistant.
Antifouling coating composition, antifouling film, composite film, and in-water structure
Provided are an antifouling coating composition that contains: a hydrolyzable resin having a specific silicon-containing group and a metal-atom-containing group containing a divalent metal atom M; and a thermoplastic resin and/or a plasticizer, wherein the total content of the thermoplastic resin and/or plasticizer per 100 parts by mass of the hydrolyzable resin is 3 to 100 parts by mass, an antifouling film, a composite film and an in-water structure such as a ship using the antifouling coating composition. The antifouling coating composition makes it possible to form a coating film that is excellent in crack resistance and exhibits a good antifouling property over a long period of time even when no antifouling agent is contained or the blending amount thereof is small.
