Seal stock laminate

A method for producing a primary laminate including a tabstock by feeding a seal laminate comprising bottom food contact layers including a foil layer and a top polyester layer to a laminating station wherein either the foil layer of the underside of the polyester layer has been printed; simultaneously feeding a tabstock, which is narrower than the seal laminate, to the laminating station such that the bottom of the tabstock and the top polyester layer of the seal laminate come into contact to form a primary substrate, simultaneously feeding a plastic film stock; and continuously extruding a polymeric adhesive between the top face of the primary substrate and bottom surface of the plastic film stock.

Laminated packaging material for a container

A laminated packaging material for containers for liquids includes a thermoplastic material outermost layer, a paper substrate layer and a thermoplastic material innermost layer, the thermoplastic material innermost layer comprising a blend of a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and a low density polyethylene (LDPE), the blend having a low swelling ratio in a range from 0.9 to 1.2. The blend further may have a melt flow index in a range from 5 to 20 dg/min. The LLDPE component of the blend is made by polymerization in the presence of a single site catalyst and has an average density a range from 0.86 to 0.92 g/mL and a peak melting point a range from 55 to 105 C. The thermoplastic material innermost layer prepared using such blends advantageously has a low layer thickness a range from 8 to 25 m.

Low particulate lubricious coating with vinyl pyrrolidone and acidic polymer-containing layers

A lubricious coating for a medical device is formed including first and second coated layers. The first coated layer is between the second coated layer and the device surface and includes a vinyl pyrrolidone polymer and a photo reactive group. The second coated layer is in direct contact with the first coated layer and is a top coating that includes an acrylic acid polymer. The second coated layer can optionally include photoreactive groups. The coating was found to have a very low number of particulates (e.g., 10 m or greater) which is very desirable for in vivo use.

Aluminum-plastic film and substrate for aluminum-plastic film

An aluminum-plastic film and a substrate for an aluminum-plastic film are provided. The aluminum-plastic film includes a polyester layer, a composite resin layer, a polyamide layer, and an aluminum layer. The composite resin layer is disposed between the polyester layer and the polyamide layer. The aluminum layer is disposed on the polyamide layer. The polyester layer, the composite resin layer, and the polyamide layer are integrally formed by co-extrusion. The composite resin layer includes a terpolymer and a polyolefin resin. Based on a total weight of the composite resin layer being 100 wt %, an amount of the terpolymer is higher than 45 wt %. The terpolymer contains structural units of ethylene butyl acrylate.
