A portable fluid infusion device, comprising a disposable part (DP) and a reusable part (RP) is disclosed. The DP comprises a first reservoir and a second reservoir, the second reservoir less than or equal to the first reservoir in length, while the RP comprises a first compartment configured to receive the first reservoir, a second compartment configured to receive the second reservoir and a gasket for sealing a junction between the second reservoir and the second compartment upon connection of the RP and the DP.
Rotational metering pump for insulin patch
A rotary pump for a fluid metering system is provided. The rotary pump reciprocates, and is reversed by a signal from a limit switch that is deflected by an actuator arm on a rotating sleeve of the pump system. The rotary pump includes a plunger and optional stopper formed from a two-shot molding process, and including seals overmolded onto the head of the plunger and the head of the optional stopper.
INFUSION PUMP SECURITY SYSTEM
A system and method for securing a pump are disclosed. The system includes a pump that contains a medicament delivery system, a processor operably coupled to the pump, a user interface in operable communication with the processor, a plurality of sensors in operable communication with the processor, and a housing. The housing includes a frame, a door, and a locking mechanism that can be selectively unlocked to allow the door to partially detach from the frame. The security system includes a swivel door assembly, which includes physical redundancies to selectively prevent access to the internal space of the swivel door assembly and a plurality of alarms. For example, in response to receiving an input from the plurality of sensors, the processor initiates at least one of the plurality of alarms to provide an indication to a user that an event has occurred.
Pumping fluid delivery systems and methods using force application assembly
A method of dispensing a therapeutic fluid from a line includes providing an inlet line connectable to an upstream fluid source. The inlet line is in downstream fluid communication with a pumping chamber. The pumping chamber has a pump outlet. The method also includes actuating a force application assembly so as to restrict retrograde flow of fluid through the inlet while pressurizing the pumping chamber to urge flow through the pump outlet. A corresponding system employs the method.
Split and side-ported catheter devices
A catheter for use in medical applications is disclosed. The catheter comprises tubing with a tip hole at one end and an end portion at the other end. Fluid exits the catheter at the tip hole thereof. One or more alternative fluid pathway(s) are provided on the sidewall of the catheter to permit outflow of fluid medication from the catheter to ensure proper delivery of the medication to the intended target area, particularly when the tip opening is occluded or restricted for any reason.
Test Device for Testing Functions of a Pump
The present disclosure relates to a test device to be inserted into the syringe receptacle of a pump, for example for a blood treatment apparatus, for testing at least one function of the pump and/or of the blood treatment apparatus. The test device includes a holding device for releasably holding the test device on the housing of the blood treatment apparatus. In addition, the test device includes at least one movable actuator and at least one electric motor arranged to directly or indirectly move said movable actuator or a section thereof.
FLUID FLOW SYSTEM FOR BUBBLE AND FLUID DETECTION
A fluid flow system and a method for detecting air bubble and liquid are provided. The fluid flow system comprises a force sensor configured to monitor at least one of an air bubble or an occlusion in a flow tube. The fluid flow system comprises a controller to execute the method. The controller is configured to monitor an output signal of a force sensor of the fluid flow system, and the output signal comprises an Alternating Current (AC) component and a Direct Current (DC) component, and detect a change in the output signal to a new output signal based on a number of transitions to the new output signal, and a time duration of the new output signal. The controller compares the change in the output signal with one of a predefined number of transitions or a predefined time and determines a new threshold when the change in the output signal exceeds one of the predefined number of transitions or the predefined time.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A FAULTY OCCLUDER VALVE
An occluder detection system is disclosed. At least one occluder element moves according to a cam motion to apply a periodic compression to a flexible infusion line. A portion of the occluder element is configured to emit or modify an energy or magnetic field. A sensor is configured to measure the energy being emitted or modified by the section of the occluder element. A processor causes the at least one occluder element to move according to the cam motion to move a fluid within the flexible infusion line by periodically compressing the flexible infusion line, measures the energy of the energy source via the sensor, obtains a current cam state associated with the cam motion at a time corresponding to the measured energy, and determines, based on the measured energy and the current cam state, a state of the occluder element. The processor may issue an alarm on a fault condition.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR OCCLUSION DETECTION AND IMPROVED PRESSURE LIMITING BEHAVIOR FOR FLUID INJECTOR DEVICES
A system, method, and computer program product are disclosed for occlusion detection and/or pressure limiting in a fluid injector system. A fluid injector system may include at least one fluid injector device, one or more drive components, and a control device. The control device may comprise at least one processor programmed or configured to: provide instructions to the fluid injector system to deliver fluid from the at least one fluid injector device at a predetermined fluid flow rate, determine a first fluid pressure measurement within the at least one fluid injector device at a first time, determine a second fluid pressure measurement within the at least one fluid injector at a second time, determine a pressure differential between the first fluid pressure measurement and the second fluid pressure measurement, calculate a change in compliance volume of the at least one fluid injector device based on the determined pressure differential, compare the calculated change in compliance volume with the predetermined fluid flow rate, repeat the steps throughout the fluid injection procedure, and determine whether an occlusion or a partial occlusion has occurred downstream of the at least one fluid injector device.
