Provided are novel cross-linked polymers and their use in various materials, including packaging films and injection molded articles. These polymers, which comprise certain hydroxyl-containing crosslinking compounds, as well as optionally adjuvants, show improved creep resistance when compared to conventional ethylene acrylic or methacrylic acid copolymers and their ionomers.
Polymer coatings containing drug powder of controlled morphology
A method for depositing a coating comprising a polymer and pharmaceutical agent on a substrate, comprising the following steps: discharging at least one pharmaceutical agent in a therapeutically desirable morphology in dry powder form through a first orifice; discharging at least one polymer in dry powder form through a second orifice; depositing the polymer and/or pharmaceutical particles onto said substrate, wherein an electrical potential is maintained between the substrate and the pharmaceutical and/or polymer particles, thereby forming said coating; and sintering said coating under conditions that do not substantially modify the morphology of said pharmaceutical agent.
Waterborne adhesives
Provided is an adhesive composition comprising a continuous aqueous medium and further comprising (i) particles of a polymer dispersed in said aqueous medium; and (ii) particles comprising fatty amide and one or more fatty acid, wherein 50 mole % or more of said fatty acid is in the carboxylate form, and wherein the weight ratio of said fatty amide to said fatty acid is from 0.12:1 to 2.3:1, wherein said particles comprising fatty amide and one or more fatty acid are dispersed in said aqueous medium. Also provided is a method of bonding substrates using such an adhesive composition and a bonded structure made by such a method.
DEGRADABLE EVOH HIGH-BARRIER COMPOSITE FILM
A degradable EVOH high-barrier composite film, characterized in that the materials of various layers in the composite film all obtain approximately-consistent biodegradability by introducing biomass, and the additive amount of the additive master batch in the materials of each layer is controlled within the range of 0.3-15% of the total mass of the materials of the corresponding layer; the hydrophilic activity of the hydrophilic groups in the additive master batch should be greater than or equal to that of the hydrophilic groups in the materials of each layer; by adding the additive master batch, the mole ratios of the hydrophilic groups to carbon atoms of the materials of various layers tend to be consistent, namely, the bioactivities tend to be consistent, so that the degradation rates of the materials of various layers in the composite film tend to be consistent. The present invention makes contribution to obtaining approximately-consistent bioactivities and approximately-consistent biodegradation rates by balancing the mole ratios of the hydrophilic groups to carbon atoms in the materials of various layers, and the appearance, the functions and the physical and mechanical properties of a product remain unchanged.
Acrylic polyol resins compositions
The invention relates to compositions of hydroxyl functional acrylic resins (acrylic polyols) comprising a mixture of α,α-branched alkane carboxylic glycidyl esters derived from butene oligomers characterized in that the sum of the concentration of the blocked and of the highly branched isomers is at least 50%, preferably above 60% and most preferably above 75% on total composition.
Multilayer film for encapsulating oxygen and/or moisture sensitive electronic devices
The present invention relates to a multilayer barrier film capable of encapsulating a moisture and/or oxygen sensitive electronic or optoelectronic device, the barrier film including at least one nanostructured layer including reactive nanoparticles capable of interacting with moisture and/or oxygen, the reactive nanoparticles being distributed within a polymeric binder, and at least one ultraviolet light neutralizing layer comprising a material capable of absorbing ultraviolet light, thereby limiting the transmission of ultraviolet light through the barrier film.
Ophthalmic devices comprising photochromic materials with reactive substituents
Various non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to ophthalmic devices comprising photochromic materials comprising a reactive substituent. For example, the present disclosure contemplates ophthalmic devices comprising photochromic materials, such as photochromic naphthopyrans and indeno-fused naphthopyrans having a reactive substituent comprising a reactive moiety linked to the photochromic naphthopyran by one or more linking groups. In certain non-limiting embodiments, the reactive moiety comprises a polymerizable moiety. In other non-limiting embodiments, the reactive moiety comprises a nucleophilic moiety. Other non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods of making the photochromic ophthalmic device, wherein the photochromic ophthalmic devices comprise the photochromic naphthopyrans described herein.
CELLULOSE FIBER-BASED SUBSTRATE, ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND USE AS MASKING TAPE
