Transfer material, recorded matter, method of manufacturing recorded matter, image-recording apparatus, and apparatus for manufacturing recorded matter
The transfer material has a laminated structure in which a base material sheet, a transparent sheet, and a coloring material-receiving layer are laminated in the stated order, in which: the coloring material-receiving layer contains inorganic fine particles and a water-soluble resin; the transparent sheet contains at least two kinds of emulsions including an emulsion E1 and an emulsion E2; and the emulsion E1 has a glass transition temperature Tg1 of more than 50 C. and less than 90 C., the emulsion E2 has a glass transition temperature Tg2 of 90 C. or more and 120 C. or less, and at least the emulsion E2 remains in a particle state in the transparent sheet.
Paper for an Opaque Label in a Dry and Wet Environment and Thus Obtained Label
A paper for a label which has an uncoated basic paper substrate on a verso side of which there is applied at least one coat of a liquid polymer, into which is incorporated one of an opacifier and an opacifying filler, intended to give product opacity in a dry state and in a wet state, adding to the opacity of the uncoated basic paper substrate so as to create a coat that is opaque and limits the ingress of water, between a product that is to be labeled and the uncoated basic paper substrate for use of the product in a wet environment or that is to be immersed in water, while at the same time preserving the qualities of the label.
Paper substrate having enhanced print density
The present invention relates to a sizing composition that, when applied to paper substrate, creates a substrate, preferably suitable for inkjet printing, having increased print density, print sharpness, low HST, and/or image dry time, the substrate preferably having high brightness and reduced color-to-color bleed as well. In addition, the present invention relates to a method of reducing the HST of a paper substrate by applying the sizing composition to at least one surface thereof. Further, the application relates to methods of making and using the sizing composition, as well as methods of making and using the paper containing the sizing composition.
Water-based coatings for color sampling
A color sampling display product is provided that includes a radiation-curable water-based coating composition applied to a substrate, and shows mechanical integrity and aesthetic appeal.
Plastic Coated Composite Building Boards and Method of Making Same
Disclosed are composite building boards and associated manufacturing methods. The composite boards may include, for example, one or more slurry layers with embedded fibrous mats. An exterior plastic coating is mechanically adhered to the underlying slurry layer. The plastic layer chemically bonds and cross-links with polymer additives within the slurry layer. The result is an integrated polymer matrix with greatly improved durability and surface strength.
Paper product with bleed-through resistant and show-through resistant qualities
A sheet of material that reduces or eliminates the incidence of bleed-through and show-through, thereby enabling a user to prepare artwork, sketches, designs, etc. on both sides of the sheet of material, without the incidence of bleed-through or show-through. The sheet of material includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and an adhesive material positioned between the first and second substrates to operatively join the first and second substrates to each other. The adhesive material acts as a moisture barrier, thereby preventing ink or moisture from passing therethrough and saturating the second substrate when ink or moisture is applied to the first substrate and vice versa. The adhesive also serves as a light barrier, thereby reducing or eliminating show-through on the second substrate when ink or moisture is applied to the first substrate and vice versa. Multiple sheets of material may be bound into a sketch book or pad.
Electrical insulating paper and stationary induction electrical apparatus using the same
Electrical insulating paper according to an embodiment of the present invention is used while being immersed in electrical insulating oil, and includes a paper base material mainly containing cellulose, an adsorption layer formed on an entire surface of the paper base material by adsorption, and a moisture barrier layer formed by being chemically bonded to the adsorption layer. The moisture barrier layer includes an amphipathic molecule containing both a hydrophobic hydrocarbon group and a hydrophilic functional group in one molecule. The amphipathic molecule is chemically bonded to the adsorption layer via the hydrophilic functional group. The hydrophobic hydrocarbon group covers the surface of the paper base material.
Packaging board, its use and products made thereof
The invention relates to a packaging board comprising a fibrous base and one or more polymer coating layers on one or both sides of the fibrous base. According to the invention the fibrous base contains the combination of an alkyl ketene dimer size, stearic acid anhydride, a wet-strength size and an aluminium compound, which give the board resistance to aggressive liquids as well as thermal treatment, particularly an improved resistance to raw edge penetration in such circumstances. The invention further relates to containers and packages made of the board, for instance disposable drinking cups, dairy product cartons and auto-clave packages, as well as use of the board for such purposes.
Coated print media and method for making the same
Disclosed is a coated print media having a coating layer formed on at least one surface of a media substrate. The coating layer includes a binder and co-milled particles of precipitated calcium carbonate and zeolite. The specific zeolite used is either Zeolite A or Zeolite X, or combination of both. The co-milled particles are produced by milling precipitated calcium carbonate in the presence of zeolite, whereby the co-milled particles take on the form of aggregates.
Laminate
The invention relates to a method for preparing a laminate comprising providing an aluminum foil inner layer, a paper middle layer, and an aluminum foil outer layer; laminating the inner aluminum foil layer to the middle layer by a process selected from the group consisting of adhesive lamination with polyurethane, polyvinyl acetate, and an acrylic-type adhesive, and extrusion lamination with polyethylene; curing the inner aluminum foil layer and middle paper layer; laminating the middle paper layer and the outer aluminum foil layer by a process selected from the group consisting of adhesive lamination with polyurethane, polyvinyl acetate, and an acrylic-type adhesive, and extrusion lamination with polyethylene; and curing the inner aluminum foil layer, the middle paper layer and the outer aluminum foil layer.
