Filtration sampling devices
A sampling device is provided for concentrating a liquid specimen sample. The sampling device includes a filtration assembly and a filter-collection receptacle disengageably coupled to the filtration assembly. The filtration assembly includes a tubular container and a plunger, which is insertable into the tubular container via a proximal container opening. The filtration assembly is configured such that movement of the plunger within the tubular container, when a liquid specimen sample is contained in the tubular container and a filter is disposed in the tubular container, pushes at least a portion of the liquid specimen sample through the filter. The sampling device is configured such that the filter is advanceable into the filter-collection receptacle while the filter-collection receptacle is disengageably coupled to the filtration assembly. Other embodiments are also described.
Selective organoselenium-based ligands for the dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction of copper and zinc ions from real samples
Novel organoselenium selective ligands are presented and designed to determine metal ions in a sample. These ligands are used as complexing agents in a dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction procedure of copper and zinc ions. The procedure has a shortened extraction time, minimal organic solvent types, and lower amounts of solvents, as well as easy operation and high enrichment efficiency.
Method and apparatus for automated sample preparation
The present teachings provide apparatuses and methods for automated handling of samples, e.g., biological or chemical samples. The apparatuses and the methods of the present teachings allow automated performance of various sample manipulation steps without manual intervention. In a preferred embodiment, the present teachings provide apparatuses and methods for automated enrichment of templated beads produced by PCR.
Method for the isolation of microvesicles
The present disclosure relates to a method for the isolation of microvesicles comprising contacting the sample with at least one polysaccharide to isolate the microvesicles.
TRANSLOCATION OF A POLYMER THROUGH A NANOPORE
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to methods, systems and devices, for analyzing the molecules. For example, in some embodiments, a system is provided which includes a first volume of conducting fluid, a second volume of conducting fluid, an orifice in communication with the first and second volumes of fluid, and means for applying an electric potential difference between the first and second volumes of fluid. In some such embodiments, a conjugate product is provided which comprises charged polymers each having attached thereto at least one first molecule for analysis, where the product carries a predetermined charge greater than the charge on the first molecule, and upon dissolving the product in the first volume of fluid, the product is directed into the orifice.
Cassette for sample preparation
Apparatuses for preparing a sample are disclosed herein. The apparatuses include a chamber, a first valve at least partially disposed in the first chamber, a second valve at least partially disposed in the first chamber, and a pump comprising an actuator and nozzle.
HEMOLYSIS DETECTION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
Aspects of the present invention are directed to devices, systems and methods that enable the quick and reliable detection of hemolysis in a sample such that a sample which exhibits an unacceptable level of hemolysis can be flagged or disregarded in an associated diagnostic test.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYZING AN ANALYTE EXTRACTED FROM A SAMPLE USING AN ADSORBENT MATERIAL
Systems and methods for analyzing an analyte extracted from a sample using an adsorbent material.
Chemical analysis apparatus, pretreatment apparatus, and chemical analysis method
A chemical analysis apparatus that quantitatively determines an object of detection rapidly with high sensitivity, and a pretreatment apparatus and a chemical analysis method used for the chemical analysis apparatus, are provided. The chemical analysis apparatus includes a pretreatment unit that accommodates a molecularly imprinted polymer capable of capturing a polar group-containing molecule included in a specimen. A quantification unit quantitatively determines a component included in the specimen that has been passed through the pretreatment unit.
