NEEDLE-FREE INTRADERMAL INJECTION DEVICE
A needle-free injection device suitable for delivering a therapeutic substance into the intradermal space of a patient. The needle-free injection device includes a first handle positioned to pivot between an open position and a closed position, a main spring, and a hammer engaged with the main spring. The needle-free injection device also includes a return sleeve engaged with the hammer when the first handle is in the open position. The return sleeve is disengaged with the hammer when the first handle is in the closed position. Needle-free injection systems and methods of operating a needle-free injection device are also disclosed.
Electronic drug delivery device
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a drug delivery assembly disposed within the housing along a longitudinal axis, and a cap defining a shell. At least one electronic component, a power source, and a switch assembly are at least partially disposed in and coupled to the cap. The switch assembly is movable along a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the drug delivery assembly to cause the power source to provide power to the electronic component. The device further includes an activation mechanism at least partially disposed in the cap. Upon urging the cap along the longitudinal axis in a direction away from the housing, the activation mechanism engages the switch assembly and causes the switch assembly to move, thereby causing the power source to provide power to the at least one electronic component.
Drug delivery device with end-of-dose trigger arrangement
A drug delivery device comprising a rotatable scale drum, a trigger member, an actuation member, a trigger spring acting on the trigger member and being energized by movement of the actuation member, as well as an end-of-dose switch adapted to be actuated by movement of the trigger member. The trigger member is adapted to be arranged in an axially supported position against the action of the energized trigger spring, and released from the axially supported position when the scale drum is rotated from a set position to an end-of-dose position, whereby the trigger member is moved axially by the trigger spring, the end-of-dose switch thereby being actuated.
Medicament delivery device
The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device comprising a housing (60), which housing is arranged to accommodate a medicament container (62); a drive unit (86) operably arranged to act on said medicament container (62) for expelling a dose of medicament; an activation unit (74) operably connected to said drive unit for activating said drive unit (86); said drive unit (86) comprising an actuation element (84) arranged movable inside the housing (60) from an initial position prior to activation, to a displaced position after activation; at least a first NFC-chip (170, 172) comprising specific information arranged on said actuation element; at least one shielding element (174) arranged to said housing, such as to shield said at least first NFC-chip (170, 172) from being read by an NFC-chip reader when said actuation element (84) is either in the initial position or in the displaced position. The present invention also comprises a communication system in which said medicament delivery device is a part.
Autoinjector
Described is an autoinjector comprising a case, a door hingedly coupled to the case and having an open position and a closed position, a plunger slidably disposed in the case, and at least one drive spring applying a biasing force on the plunger relative to the case, wherein the door is operably coupled to the plunger, and wherein rotation of the door from the closed position to the open position moves the plunger from a distal position in the case to a proximal position in the case and compresses the at least one drive spring.
Low profile intuitive pharmaceutical injection device
Some embodiments of a low profile intramuscular auto-injector optionally comprise a contact surface contoured to fit a body surface. Optionally a height of the injector is less than ¼ a perimeter of the contact surface. Optionally a cover protects said contact surface. Optionally the device includes a priming mechanism coupled to the cover wherein removal of the cover activates the priming mechanism for priming the injector and/or increasing a height of the injector. Optionally the injector includes a cylindrical pharmaceutical reservoir rigidly attached to an injection needle. Optionally in a compact storage state the injection needle is at a low angle to the contact surface. Optionally during priming the needle and/or reservoir rotate to orient the needle at a higher angle to the contact surface.
Automatic drug delivery devices
The invention provides in one aspect a drug delivery device comprising a drug container assembly containing a drug, and a plunger positioned within the container assembly, the drug container assembly having an outlet for dispensing the drug, wherein, in an initial position, the outlet is sealed; a drive mechanism comprising a first stored energy source operable to apply pressure on the plunger or the drug container to pressurise the drug, and a first release mechanism operable to unseal the outlet after the drug has been pressurised. In another aspect, there is provided a drug delivery device comprising a housing, including an external housing portion configured to be held in use and a drug containing portion containing a drug, a needle assembly comprising a needle fixed to a needle hub, the needle hub configured to move relative to the drug containing portion from an initial position within the housing to an insertion position in which the needle extends beyond the housing, a first stored energy source configured to move the needle hub from the initial position to the insertion position, and a plunger within the housing and configured to move relative to the drug containing portion to eject the drug through the needle when the needle is in the insertion position.
Intradermal injection device
Embodiments herein relate to the field of injections, for instance needle-free injections, and more specifically, to methods and apparatus for spring-driven intramuscular and intradermal injections. Provided in some embodiments are needle-free injectors adapted to deliver intradermal injections, as well as vial adaptors that are adapted to function as spacers when used with a needle-free injection device.
Device and method for delivering a medicament
A device for delivery of medicament is presented that has an elongated housing, a container mounted within the housing and adapted to contain liquid medicament, a stopper slidably arranged within said container, and a delivery mechanism comprising a resilient member, a plunger assembly having one end connected to the stopper and a second end being operably connected to the resilient member, a rotatable latch for releasably retaining the plunger assembly in a first position where the resilient member has an accumulated energy, where rotation of the latch releases the plunger assembly such that the accumulated energy is transferred to the plunger assembly for driving the stopper within the container whereby the medicament within said container is delivered to an injection site. After delivery of the medicament a rotator having a hard stop feature aligns with a rib on the protective shield to prevent retraction of the protective shield.
Drug delivery device with clutch feature
A drug delivery device comprising or adapted to receive a drug-filled cartridge, comprising a piston rod adapted to be rotated by a drive member to thereby move the piston rod distally during expelling, dose setting means allowing a user to simultaneously set a dose amount to be expelled, and a releasable locking mechanism adapted to rotationally lock the drive member relative to the housing during dose setting. The device further comprises release means actuatable between a dose setting mode and an expelling mode, wherein the locking mechanism is released when the release means is actuated from a dose setting mode to an expelling mode.
