20230173184 · 2023-06-08 ·

An auto-injector includes a drive assembly within a housing carrying a syringe including a needle adjacent an activation cap within the housing's distal end. The drive assembly includes a first chamber carrying a gas canister, a plunger within a second chamber coupled to the syringe, and proximal and distal chambers. The activation cap is pressed against a subject's skin to direct the drive assembly proximally to open an outlet of the canister to release pressurized gas into the first chamber, whereupon the gas enters the proximal chamber to generate a distal force to advance the drive assembly to direct the needle into the subject and enters the second chamber to advance the plunger to deliver agents from the syringe into the subject. After the plunger advances, the gas enters the distal chamber to generate a proximal force to retract the drive assembly to direct the needle back into the housing.

Auto-injector

An auto-injector comprising an elongate housing containing a syringe. The housing having a an orifice intended to be applied against an injection site. The syringe is slidably arranged with respect to the housing. A spring pushing the needle from a covered position into an advanced position, operating the syringe and covering the needle. An activator arranged to lock the spring prior to manual operation and capable of, upon manual operation, releasing the spring means for injection. A first gear arrangement and a second gear arrangement arranged for converting torque from a first end and a second end of the torsion spring into a translative force. The first end groundable in the housing while the second end acts on a plunger through the second gear arrangement for advancing the needle and supplying the dose.

Auto-injector

An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament (M) is presented having an elongate case arranged to be held by a user, a tubular chassis telescoped in the case and biased against the case so as to protrude from the case. The injector also includes a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding load of the drive spring to a stopper of the syringe. A trigger button is distally arranged in or on the case, wherein the trigger button is initially coupled to the case in a manner to protrude distally from the case and interlocked to the chassis in a manner preventing the trigger button from disengaging the case.

LARGE VOLUME SKIN PATCH MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED SKIN STERILIZATION MECHANISM FOR THE INJECTION SITE

A skin-patch type medicament delivery device (10, 30, 50) comprises a housing (11) containing a medicament delivery mechanism (12) including an injection needle (13). An adhesive surface (19) is provided for securing the housing (11) to a patient's skin during a medicament delivery process. A sterilizing mechanism is connected to the housing (11) and thus integrated into the device, and comprises a pad (18) impregnated with sterilizing agent which contacts the skin once the housing (11) is secured to a patient, and which can, respectively has to be moved in a swiping action across the injection site to sterilize the latter before the needle insertion and drug administration can be performed.

Ampule Autoinjector Systems And Methods

An autoinjector is described that includes an outer body, a first trigger, an output needle, and a first compartment. The first compartment is positioned within the outer body and includes (i) a main body, (ii) a first biasing member coupled to the first trigger, and (iii) a protrusion positioned at a distal end of the main body. The autoinjector further includes a second compartment positioned in the outer body and in fluid communication with the first compartment and the output needle. The autoinjector also includes a second biasing member coupled to a second trigger. The first biasing member is configured to, upon application of force to the first trigger, automatically move an ampule in a distal direction relative to the main body to force the ampule against the protrusion, so as to break the ampule and allow a medicament to flow from the ampule to the second compartment.

Skin Sensors and Automatic Injectors for Injectable Syringes Having Skin Sensors

A skin sensing system for a drug delivery device includes a control unit and a skin sensor comprising one or more electrodes. The skin sensor may be configured to store a threshold value associated with skin sensing, receive one or more sensed signal values .sup..from the one or more electrodes, compare the one or more sensed signal values with the threshold value, and based on the comparison, transmit a resultant signal to the control unit, The resultant signal is used by the control unit to determine whether a skin surface of a user is substantially proximate to the skin sensor upon receiving the resultant signal. A drug delivery device for sensing contact with the skin includes the skin sensing system. When the skin sensor senses that the drug delivery device is in contact with a patient's skin surface, drug delivery from the device may he permitted.

An injection device includes an injection complete indicator which includes its own bias and which is latched into a retracted position as the injection device is cocked. Upon firing the injection device, the injection complete indicator is kept in its retracted position until towards the end of the forward stroke of the drive mechanism, whereupon the injection complete indicator is unlatched and shoots forwardly under the influence of the bias to impact an abutment to generate an audible/tactile indication along with a visual indication.
