INJECTION DEVICE FOR SOFT-TISSUE AUGMENTATION FILLERS, BIOACTIVE AGENTS AND OTHER BIOCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS IN LIQUID OR GEL FORM
Described herein are injection devices capable of automatically injecting substances into the soft tissue of a patient. The devices can inject low to high viscosity materials at predetermined, user selected injection rates, allowing the operator more control than a traditional syringe. The devices can allow mixing of more than one substance and/or reconstitution of a solid substance for injection. The injection devices described herein can allow the operator to easily inject one or more low to high viscosity liquid or gel soft-tissue augmentation fillers, one or more drugs, one or more other biocompatible materials, or combinations thereof.
AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE WITH A DAMPENING ELEMENT
An automatic injection device including a generally cylindrical syringe body having an opening, an outlet and an inner cylindrical surface adapted to contain an injectable liquid to be injected at an injection site via the outlet; a piston disposed in the cylindrical syringe body; a driving assembly, including an elongate plunger element having a forward end adapted to be axially inserted into the generally cylindrical syringe body and an at least partial forward sealing element mounted onto the elongate plunger element adjacent the forward end for creating an at least temporary slidable seal between the elongate plunger element and the inner cylindrical surface, whereby axial insertion of the elongate plunger element and the forward sealing element into the generally cylindrical syringe body creates friction between the forward sealing element and the inner cylindrical surface and also creates an at least temporary air spring between the forward sealing element and the piston, wherein the friction and the air spring dampen motion of the elongate plunger element.
Assembly for a Drug Delivery Device and Drug Delivery Device
An assembly for a drug delivery device comprises a housing, a dose member which is displaceable in a proximal direction with respect to the housing for setting of a dose of a drug, a clutch member which is displaced in the proximal direction with respect to the housing when setting the dose, and a stop member configured to define a clutch stop position. The clutch member and the dose member are configured to mechanically cooperate with one another when the clutch member is in the clutch stop position, thereby preventing further displacement of the dose member in the proximal direction with respect to the housing during setting of the dose.
AUTO INJECTOR WITH ADAPTABLE AIR-SHOT MECHANISM
Disclosed is an auto injector for administering a medicament. The auto injector comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge assembly comprising a cartridge and a cartridge code feature, the cartridge containing the medicament; a code sensor configured to read the cartridge code feature; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the code sensor and the drive module. The processing unit being configured to: receive from the code sensor a code signal indicative of the cartridge code feature; control the drive module to move the plunger rod to a first plunger rod position, the first plunger rod position being based on the code signal; receive a trigger event; control the drive module to move the plunger rod to a second plunger rod position following reception of the trigger event.
Accessory device for drug delivery device
An add-on device adapted to be releasably mounted on a drug delivery device, the add-on device comprising an outer assembly with an add-on dose setting member adapted to be coupled to the outer housing of a pen housing, as well as an inner sensor assembly engaging the pen dose setting member and being in rotational engagement with the add-on dose setting member during dose setting. The invention addresses the issue of providing a stable inner platform for the sensor means, which in accordance with the invention is realized by actuating a clutch between the pen housing and the pen dose setting member during dose sensing, this preventing to a high degree that the inner sensor assembly rotates relative to the drug delivery housing during actuation of the drug expelling means.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
Drug delivery devices for selecting and dispensing a number of doses of a medicament are provided. The drug delivery device includes a medicament reservoir attached to a housing, a drive mechanism including a plunger axially movable relative to the housing for dispensing doses of the medicament from the medicament reservoir, a dose selecting element releasably coupled to the drive mechanism and rotatable relative to the housing in a first direction for selecting a dose, a trigger axially movable relative to the housing for initiating dispensing of a dose selected by the dose selecting element, and a limiter selectively permitting and preventing axial movement of the trigger depending on the amount of the selected dose.
Device and method for delivery of two or more drug agents
A computerized electro-mechanical drug delivery device configured to deliver at least one dose of two or more medicaments. The device comprises a control unit. An electro-mechanical drive unit is operably coupled to the control unit and a primary reservoir for a first medicament and a secondary reservoir for a fluid agent, e.g. a second medicament. An operator interface is in communication with the control unit. A single dispense assembly is configured for fluid communication with the primary and the secondary reservoir. Activation of the operator panel sets a first dose from the primary reservoir and based on the first dose and a therapeutic dose profile, the control unit is configured to determine a dose or range of the fluid agent. Alternatively, the control unit determines or calculates a dose or range of a third medicament. Further, a dispense interface for use with a drug delivery device is disclosed.
Pharmaceutical injection device
A pharmaceutical injection device includes a main body case, a cartridge holder, a latching receiver, a driver, and a manipulation component. The cartridge holder has a holding space and a holder latching component. The holding space is capable of holding a pharmaceutical cartridge. The latching receiver is configured to latch or release the holder latching component according to whether the cartridge holder is closed or open. The driver is configured to automatically release a latching of the latching receiver and the holder latching component. The manipulation component is configured to manually release the latching of the latching receiver and the holder latching component by moving the latching receiver upon being subjected to external pressure. The driver or the manipulation component is configured to release the latching between the latching receiver and the holder latching component.
Automatic injection applicator
An automatic applicator of injection is described, which is equipped with a programmable electronic module that activates a first linear motor (ML1) which axially displaces an arm (13) of the proximal end (11) to the fixed head (20) placed at the distal end of the housing (10), said arm (13) which compresses a cartridge (15) fitted in the chamber (12) formed between the head (20) and the free end of the arm (13) so as to gradually expel the fluid stored in the cartridge; and a second linear motor (ML2) actuated concurrent with the first linear motor (ML1), said second linear motor (ML2) retreating an arm (60) with a dragger (61) which slides axially a suction chamber (30) toward the intermediate portion of the housing (10) and contiguous to the outer surface of the inner chamber (12), gradually exposing the needle tip (50) for application of the injection. The equipment is also equipped with a motor (63) which vibrates the suction chamber (30), tightly sealed, inside which air is removed by a suction pump creating a vacuum for the suction of the mucous against the needle.
