The present invention provides polyurethanes including a reaction product of components including: (a) an isocyanate functional urethane prepolymer comprising a reaction product of components including: (i) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; and (ii) about 0.1 to about 0.5 equivalents of at least one diol having 2 to 18 carbon atoms; and (b) about 0.05 to about 0.9 equivalents of at least one branched polyol having 4 to 18 carbon atoms and at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and (c) up to about 0.9 equivalents of at least one polyol different from branched polyol (b) and having 2 to 18 carbon atoms, wherein the reaction product components are essentially free of polyester polyol and polyether polyol; compositions, coatings and articles made therefrom and methods of making the same.

Method of making a flame resistant airbag suitable for use in aviation applications

A method of making a flame resistant airbag suitable for use in aviation applications is discussed. A flame resistant fabric for the use in the construction of aviation airbags is woven from a high tenacity continuous polyester fiber substrate. A polyurethane coating is applied to the woven fabric, which has been treated with a flame retardant, to impart high pressure permeability resistance to the flame resistant fabric. The resulting fabric complies with Federal Aviation Requirement 25.853 as well as exhibits sufficient high pressure permeability resistance which is measured as a pressure of not less than about 198 kPa after five seconds from an initial inflation and pressurization to about 200 kPa, such as may be encountered in and during an inflation of aviation airbag assemblies.

Thermosetting resin composition, and prepreg, insulating film with support, laminate plate, and printed wiring board, each obtained using same

A thermosetting resin composition containing: (A) a resin composition having an unsaturated maleimide group, produced by reacting (a) a maleimide compound having at least two N-substituted maleimide groups per one molecule and (b) an amine compound having at least two primary amino groups per one molecule, in an organic solvent; (B) a thermosetting resin; and (C) a modified imidazole compound, such as an isocyanate-masked imidazole and an epoxy-masked imidazole, and a prepreg, an insulating film with a support, a laminate plate and a printed wiring board, each containing the same.

Heat and flame-resistance materials and upholstered articles incorporating same

A mattress, foundation, or other upholstered sleep product or article includes a core and barrier material surrounding the core. The barrier material includes flame and heat-resistant material that is configured to prevent combustion of the core when the upholstered article is impinged with a gas flame according to California Technical Bulletin 603 of the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs. The barrier material may include an intumescent material that is configured to swell and char in the presence of a flame so as to form a barrier to the flame and to heat generated by the flame.
